    Abstract: A laser micro/nano processing system (100, 200, 300, 400) comprises: a laser light source used to provide a first laser beam having a first wavelength and a second laser beam having a second wavelength different from the first wavelength, with the pulse width of the first laser beam being in the range from a nanosecond to a femtosecond; an optical focusing assembly used to focus the first laser beam and the second laser beam to the same focal point; and a micro mobile platform (21) controlled by a computer. Also disclosed are a method for micro/nano-processing photosensitive materials with a laser and a method for fabricating a device with a micro/nano structure using laser two-photon direct writing technology. In the system and methods, spatial and temporal overlapping of two laser beams is utilized, so as to obtain a micro/nano structure with a processing resolution higher than that of a single laser beam, using an average power lower than that of a single laser beam.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a borate birefringent crystal applicable to ultraviolet (UV) or deep ultraviolet (DUV) range, with chemical formula of Ba2Mg(B3O6)2. The borate birefringent crystal belongs to a trigonal system, with space group of R-3 wherein a=0.70528(3) nm, c=1.65520(9) nm and Z=12. The barium magnesium borate birefringent crystal is negative uniaxial (ne<no) with a birefringence of 0.077-0.229 and a transmission range of 177-3000 nm. The crystal is easy to cut, grind, polish, and preserve, and is stable in air and is not easy to deliquesce. The barium magnesium borate birefringent crystal can be grown by the Czochralski method, flux method or the method of spontaneous crystallization from a melt, and has larger birefringence (no?ne=0.077-0.229). The crystal has important applications in the fields of optics and communications, e.g. for fabricating the polarizing beam splitter prism.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a molecular glass of a spirofluorene derivative having a molecular structure as follows: formula (I), wherein each of R1-R12 is a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, a methoxyl group or an acid-sensitive substituent; substituents R1˜R12 can be identical or different, but on the same benzene ring the substituents cannot all be hydrogen atoms. The molecular glass has a good solubility in various polar solvents, is suitable to be made into a film; meanwhile the molecular glass has a very high glass transition temperature and meets the requirements of the photolithography processing technology. Also disclosed is a preparation method of the above-mentioned molecular glass of a spirofluorene derivative. The synthetic process of the method is simple and suitable for industrialization.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a potassium chloroborate nonlinear optical crystal, a preparation method and a use thereof. The crystal has a chemical formula of K3B6O10Cl, has no symmetric center, belongs to rhombohedral crystal system, has a space group R3m with unit cell parameters of a=10.0624(14) ?, b=10.0624(14) ?, c=8.8361(18) ?, Z=3 and V=774.8(2) ?3. It has a powder second harmonic generation efficiency of about 3 times that of KDP (KH2PO4), and a Mohs hardness of 4-5, a transparent wavelength range of 165 nm-3460 nm. The compound is synthesized by a solid-state reaction and the crystal is grown by using a flux, which are of easy operation and low costs. The obtained crystal has large size, short growing period, little inclusion, relatively high mechanical hardness, and is easy to be cut, polished and stored. Said crystal is used to generate a second, third, fourth or fifth harmonic light output for a laser beam with a wavelength of 1064 nm.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a large-sized and high-quality bismuth-zinc-borate (Bi.sub.2 ZnB.sub.2 O.sub.7) single crystal, preparation methods and applications thereof. The crystal has cross-sectional dimensions greater than one centimeter, a nonlinear optical effect of about 3-4 times that of KH.sub.2 PO.sub.4 (KDP), and an optical transmission wavelength range of 330-3300 nm. The crystal can be grown from a compound melt by a Czochralski method, a Kyropoulos method or a Bridgman method with the raw material being the synthetic compound Bi.sub.2 ZnB.sub.2 O.sub.7. Alternatively, the crystal may be grown from a high-temperature solution method by using Bi.sub.2 O.sub.3 as a flux. The crystal may be applied in nonlinear optical devices such as frequency doubling generators, frequency upconverters or downconverters, and optical parametric oscillators.
