  • Patent number: 4305387
Abstract: The mouth closure for providing artificial respiration to patients consists of a deformable elliptical plate (2), whose periphery is surrounded by a tube (1). The tube is formed in the shape of an air hose made of an elastic film with a hose (3) for admission of air. A tube (4) passes through the plate (2) in a central region. The mouth closure is placed in the dentilabial cavity of the patient's upper and lower jaws. The tube, in association with the gums and the lips and cheeks, seals the oral cavity from the outside. A flow of air through the tube therefore enters the respiratory passages of the patient and also passes back from the respiratory passages, through the tube, to the outside.

  • Patent number: 4293049
Abstract: Field of the invention: filling machine industry.Device consisting of a lever made up of two arms arranged on each side of a fixed pivoting axis. The end of the first arm supports the end of a rod, movable axially and vertically to rotate the arm and ending at the other end in a load-carrying platform moving downwards as the load increases. The end of the second arm, consisting of two parts pivoting about a movable axis, carries a counter-weight and by sliding along the pivoting part on a fixed axis may itself slide along a straight inclinable rail. By suitable selection of both the weight of the counter-weight and the slope of the straight rail, the lever is balanced at the same time in two positions, one corresponding to zero load on the platform and the other to a predetermined load placed on the platform, there being substantial equilibrium in intermediate positions.Use: Metering of bulk products discharged into containers by filling machines.

  • Patent number: 4292630
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting and signalling the presence and absence of movement of an object moving randomly in space and time has a portable transmitter carried by the moving object, such as a human operator. The transmitter transmits a carrier frequency signal so long as the operator continues his random movements. A detector associated with the transmitter detects the random movements and has sensing means which is a sensor that responds to the operator's movements and is movable randomly in three dimensions in response to the movements. The detector has a photo-responsive switch activated by the movement sensor which interrupts the emission of the carrier frequency signal when the human operator is substantially immobile and permits the transmission once the operator renews his movement. A receiver is positioned in an area for receiving the carrier frequency signal.

  • Patent number: 4285893
Abstract: In the course of this method, an amount of expansible mixture is poured into a mould, after which the mould is obturated by means of a plug. A vacuum is created in the chamber of the mould by way of the plug so as to cause the foaming of the mixture. The vacuum is maintained for a period after the foamable mixture has filled the whole of the volume of the mould. At the end of the polymerization of the foamable mixture, the vacuum may be re-applied in the mould, preferably for several cycles, so as to cause the cells of the foam obtained to burst.

  • Patent number: 4286284
Abstract: Color decoding device for signals emitted by an NTSC source for the purpose of coding in any system, characterized by the use of a shifter operating at a reference frequency receiving signals in series and transmitting 4 parallel bits to a carrier which samples them at a frequency equal to one fourth of the reference frequency. The signals and their complements produced by the sampler are transmitted to a display device through a matrix of interchangeable resistors. The invention applies to all coding systems, especially SECAM, and in particular to the SECAM display of signals emitted by NTSC computers.
