Abstract: A method for modifying a fine particle dispersion liquid has excellent dispersibility and dispersion stability. In this method for modifying a fine particle dispersion liquid having improved fine particle dispersibility, impurities included in an agglomeration of fine particles contained in the fine particle dispersion liquid are released into the dispersion liquid by applying physical energy to the agglomeration and performing dispersion processing for dispersion into particles that are smaller than the agglomeration of fine particles. The impurities are removed from the dispersion liquid by means of a removal unit provided with a filtration membrane before reagglomeration is caused by the impurities.
Abstract: A method for modifying a fine particle dispersion liquid with which dispersibility and dispersion stability can be improved includes performing filtration to remove impurities in a dispersion liquid using a dispersion liquid modifying device provided with a removal unit that uses a filtration membrane. The quantity of impurities is reduced from a first region until said quantity reaches a second pH-dependent region. In the second pH-dependent region, the dispersibility of the fine particles in the dispersion liquid is in a range in which the dispersibility depends more on a change in dispersion liquid pH than on a change in the quantity of impurities in the dispersion liquid. With the quantity of impurities reduced to the second pH-dependent region, the dispersibility of the fine particles is controlled by adjusting the pH of the fine particle dispersion liquid.

Abstract: The present invention provides a composition for coating having high ultraviolet ray protection ability for a coating material, and properties required for a coating material such as texture, appearance, designability and weather resistance. The composition is a silicon oxide-coated iron oxide composition for coating comprising iron oxide particles, a primary particle diameter of which is 1 nm or more and 50 nm or less, wherein at least a part of the surface of said iron oxide particles is coated with silicon oxide, and wherein said composition comprises an iron oxide particle dispersion having the average molar absorption coefficient of 1500 L/(mol·cm) or more for the light of the wavelengths from 190 nm to 380 nm in a state that said coated iron oxide particles are dispersed in a dispersion medium. It is preferable that the transmittance of said iron oxide particle containing dispersion for the light of the wavelengths from 200 nm to 420 nm is 2.
Abstract: A method for synthesizing a modified polymer comprising epoxide groups along the polymer chain, by a hydrosilylation reaction of the unsaturations with a hydrosilane bearing an epoxide function in the presence of a suitable catalyst is provided. The method is simple, reproducible and able to be used on an industrial scale, and makes it possible to obtain high grafting yields, since they may reach 100%.

Abstract: A snow tire tread having a plurality of blocks separated by grooves and provided with sipe incisions dividing into several parts from a certain depth onwards, (complex sipes each having, when viewed in cross section, a rectilinear first part extending radially from the tread surface of the tread, and a second part extending the first part and comprising at least two branches each having an end. The tread has cavities each extending between the branches of a complex sipe and having a bottom situated at the same level as the ends of the branches. The cavities and the grooves of the tread are configured so that this tread has a voids surface ratio at the end of wear greater than or equal to 35%. Furthermore, the distance (D) between two branches of two adjacent complex sipes is at least equal to 2 mm.

Abstract: Some pressure washers include units for introduction of detergents and other chemicals into the water stream; however, it is desirable to obtain sterilized cleaning water without them, such that use in, for instance, food preparation processes can be implemented. With a sufficiently high temperature super-heated water stream, all process equipment, including pipework, that comes into contact with sterile process materials, can be cleaned, de-greased and sterilized both with the spray jet using water alone whilst not contributing endotoxins, microbial contamination or particles. Merely raising the temperature of water in a conventional pressure washer could cause components to fail, if they were not designed to operate at such high temperatures. In the present invention, the pump (25) supplies a relatively low volume of water at a relatively high pressure to the boiler (13), allowing the boiler (13) to heat that volume of water to a relatively high temperature.
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a ring-shaped frame made from composite material includes slipping at least one tubular casing of dry fibers over an assembly having at least two coaxial sub-assemblies axially movable relative to one another and between which a peripheral groove is defined. The assembly is disposed in the general plane of the frame. A portion of the tubular casing is forced into the groove and the two sub-assemblies are tightened so as to hold a portion of the tubular casing in the groove. Two parts of the casing that are outside the groove are coupled, and the obtained coupling is folded onto one of the two sub-assemblies in order to obtain a preform of dry fibers. The preform is solidified by polymerization.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a tread for a tire. The tread includes at least one elongate block of rubbery material of width W and length L with L>>W. This elongate block extends in a circumferential direction (X) when the tread is mounted on the tire. The elongate block includes a contact surface intended to come into contact with the ground and a first lateral wall and a second lateral wall delimiting this contact surface. The elongate block includes a plurality of sipes opening onto the contact surface of the elongate block, with each sine extending in an oblique direction opening onto the first lateral wall and onto the second lateral wall. The sipes are distributed over the contact surface of the block in such a way that when one sipe reaches the second lateral wall another sipe starts out from the first lateral wall, at a same circumferential level (N) on the elongate block. With the sipes delimiting sub-blocks in the elongate block, at least two of these sub-blocks are configured differently in the tread.

Abstract: An angle type power wrench includes a housing, a motor, an output shaft and an angle drive connecting the motor to the output shaft.
