Abstract: A power and data center (PDC) can serve as a combined data concentrator and power distributor that delivers scalable and affordable network/power redundancy into an automotive electrical/electronic architecture (E/EA) that supports partially or fully autonomous vehicles. In some embodiments, a vehicle that includes the smart E/EA is divided into zones, where each zone includes one or more PDCs and one or more sensors, actuators, controllers, loudspeakers or other devices that are coupled to and powered by their zone PDC(s). Each PDC collects and processes (or passes through) raw or pre-processed sensor data from the one or more sensors in its zone. The sensors provide their data to the PDC by way of cost efficient, short-range data links. In some embodiments, one or more actuators in each zone are coupled to their respective zone PDC, and receive their control data from the PDC over a high-speed data bus or data link.

Abstract: A computer implemented method for determining a distance of an object comprises the following steps carried out by computer hardware components: determining an image containing the object; determining a class of the object based on the image; determining a coarse estimation of the distance based on a distance sensor; and determining the distance of the object based on the coarse estimation and based on the class of the object.
Abstract: An automotive electrical distribution center assembly includes a mounting frame, a first pair of stacked gears rotatably attached to a side of the mounting frame and a second pair of stacked gears rotatably attached to an opposite side of the mounting frame, a moveable driver surrounding the mounting frame and defining four first linear gear racks that each engage a first gear of the first and second pairs of stacked gears, and an electrical distribution center attached to the driver. The electrical distribution center defines four second liner gear racks that each engage a second gear of the first and second pairs of stacked gears. Linear movement of the driver relative to the mounting frame causes rotational movement of the first and second pairs of stacked gears, thereby causing linear movement of the electrical distribution center to relative the mounting frame.

Abstract: This document describes techniques, systems, and methods for multi-scan sensor fusion for object tracking. A sensor-fusion system can obtain radar tracks and vision tracks generated for an environment of a vehicle. The sensor-fusion system maintains sets of hypotheses for associations between the vision tracks and the radar tracks based on multiple scans of radar data and vision data. The set of hypotheses include mass values for the associations. The sensor-fusion system determines a probability value for each hypothesis. Based on the probability value, matches between radar tracks and vision tracks are determined. The sensor-fusion system then outputs the matches to a semi-autonomous or autonomous driving system to control operation of the vehicle. In this way, the described techniques, systems, and methods can provide high-precision object tracking with quantifiable uncertainty.
