Publication number: 20120078431Abstract: Systems and methods are provided that integrate a modular load management solution within a general control architecture. One or more load modules deployed within a controller act as interlocks to energy consuming field devices or machines fed by an energy distribution system within a facility. One or more feeder modules deployed within the controller collect energy supply data from an energy source or feeder on the energy distribution system. The load and feeder modules publish their energy demand and supply data to a virtual energy bus, which facilitates exchange of energy data between the load and feeder modules. The load modules, feeder modules, and virtual energy bus generate multiple views of the facility's overall energy supply and demand status based on the energy data shared between the components, and perform automated load management for the energy distribution system based on the collected data.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 29, 2010Publication date: March 29, 2012Applicant: ROCKWELL AUTOMATION TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventor: Norman A. Publication number: 20120073657Abstract: Extremely high efficiency solar cells are described. Novel alternating bias schemes enhance the photovoltaic power extraction capability above the cell band-gap by enabling the extraction of hot carriers. In conventional solar cells, this alternating bias scheme has the potential of more than doubling their yielded net efficiency. In solar cells incorporating quantum wells (QWs) or quantum dots (QDs), the alternating bias scheme has the potential of extending such solar cell power extraction coverage, possibly across the entire solar spectrum, thus enabling unprecedented solar power extraction efficiency. Within such cells, a novel alternating bias scheme extends the cell energy conversion capability above the cell material band-gap while the quantum confinement structures are used to extend the cell energy conversion capability below the cell band-gap.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 26, 2011Publication date: March 29, 2012Applicant: OSTENDO TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Hussein S. Publication number: 20120074309Abstract: The present invention performs measurement for determining a P/A coefficient and/or determination of the P/A coefficient after measurement of a standard density sample for density calibration in an ICP-MS. Specifically, after measuring signal intensity of each mass number in the standard density sample, the P/A coefficient is determined from the signal intensity for a mass number having the signal intensity within a P/A coefficient calibration range, while for a mass number having the signal intensity above the calibration range, a voltage applied to an ion lens of the ICP-MS is changed so that the signal intensity becomes within the calibration range, to thereby adjust an ion transmission ratio of the ion lens, and then the P/A coefficient is determined from the signal intensity determined within the calibration range.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 20, 2011Publication date: March 29, 2012Applicant: AGILENT TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Kazushi HIRANO, Tetsuya KANDA

Publication number: 20120079217Abstract: Systems and methods are presented to facilitate implementation of controlling memory management, e.g., garbage collection, of computer objects based upon determination of a source side weak event and associated components. A first class determines the existence of a listener and a second class, based upon an indication from the first class, determines whether the second class should “re-register for finalization” during execution of a finalizing operation. Where existence of the second class is maintained, existence of associated components such as the first class, a delegate, a listener, and the like, is continued and data, etc., continues to be published from the weak event to the listener. Where existence of the second class is no longer maintained (e.g., the second class does not re-register for finalization), the various components, e.g., the first class, the second class, a delegate, a listener, and any other objects are available for garbage collection.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 29, 2010Publication date: March 29, 2012Applicant: ROCKWELL AUTOMATION TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventor: Benjamin J.
