  • Patent number: 11672545
Abstract: A flexible shaft includes a tubular body extending along a central longitudinal axis and having proximal and distal ends opposite one another. The flexible shaft also includes a slot defined by the tubular body and extending along a helical path around and along at least a portion of the body between the proximal and distal ends. The helical path extends around the portion of the body for a plurality of rotations. The slot defines at least two teeth adjacent one another along a direction parallel to the central axis. Each tooth of the two teeth has a feature. In some implementations, a line extending through center points of the features on the two teeth is angularly offset from the central longitudinal axis. In some implementations, a line parallel to the central longitudinal axis intersects a different point on each feature of the two teeth.

  • Patent number: 11674993
Abstract: A method and system measure a characteristic of a signal under test (SUT) using a signal measurement device. The method includes receiving and digitizing the first and second copies of the SUT through first and second input channels to obtain first and second digitized waveforms; repeatedly determining measurement values of the SUT characteristic in the first and second digitized waveforms to obtain first and second measurement values, which are paired in measurement value pairs; multiplying the first and second measurement values in each of the measurement value pairs to obtain measurement products; determining an average value of the measurement products to obtain an MSV of the measured SUT characteristic; and determine a square root of the MSV to obtain an RMS value of the measured SUT characteristic. The RMS value substantially omits variations not in the SUT, which are introduced by only one of the first and second input channels.

  • Patent number: 11675351
Abstract: An autonomous mobile device (AMD) builds up electrostatic charges from moving and generates heat from the operation of internal components. In addition to possible user discomfort, electrostatic discharges may damage sensors and electronics. Electrostatic charges are dissipated from the AMD using an electrostatic dissipation structure and conductive wheels. A conductive path between a chassis ground, the electrostatic dissipation structure, and the conductive wheels improves the dissipation of electrostatic charges. Electrostatic charges are also dissipated from components by mounting the components using conductive materials. Sensors may be affixed to a support structure that is affected by thermal expansion. Thermal expansion may distort precise positioning of sensors, reducing accuracy of sensor data. An elastomeric foam may be used to mount sensors to a support structure, allowing for thermal expansion without distorting the positioning of the sensors.
