  • Publication number: 20140250265
Abstract: A data storage device includes a memory and a controller. The controller is configured to identify groups of bits that match any bit pattern in a first set of bit patterns. Each of the groups of bits includes a first bit of first data, a second bit of second data, and a third bit of third data to be stored at the memory. The controller is configured, based on determining that a count of the identified groups exceeds a threshold, to change multiple bits of the first data. Changing the multiple bits of the first data reduces a number of the groups of bits that match any bit pattern in the first set of bit patterns.

  • Publication number: 20140241711
Abstract: A communications networking having reduced transmission latency and improved reliability is described. To reduce signal transmission latency, network management data is removed from a data stream to prioritize the transmission of payload data at higher transmission rates. Management data is returned to the data stream in such a way that it minimizes an impact to payload transmission rates. To improve communications network reliability, the network is configured to form a primary communication path and a redundant communication path. Upon failure of a transceiver at one node, the network engages redundant transceivers on a per-node basis thereby using a segment of the redundant communication path. The data stream is returned to the primary communication path upon circumvention of the failed transceiver.

  • Publication number: 20140238437
Abstract: The present invention comprises a method and system for the in-situ cleaning of a heat exchanger tube bundle of carbonaceous deposits. Using the method and system, an organic solvent is brought into fluid communication with one or more heat exchanger tube bundles in a closed system. The closed system is formed at the site of operation of the heat exchanger tube bundles and without having to remove the heat exchanger tube bundles from their shells or other associated equipment. Once the closed system is formed, the organic solvent is brought to a temperature at which it is effective to remove carbonaceous deposits from the heat exchanger tube bundle and flowed through the equipment associated with the heat exchanger tube bundles so as to contact the heat exchanger tube bundles and remove carbonaceous deposits that have formed therein.

The device stores and analyzes the pulse waveforms simultaneously obtained from all tests, and thereby allows an unusually detailed view into the functioning of the user's cardiovascular heart-lung system. The device is designed for use by unskilled or semi-skilled users, thus enabling sophisticated cardiovascular measurements to be obtained in a home environment. Data from the device can be analyzed onboard, with local computerized devices, and with remote server based systems. The remote server may be configured to analyze this data according to various algorithms chosen by the physician to be most appropriate to that patient's particular medical condition (e.g. COPD patient algorithms).
