Abstract: An optical coherence analysis system uses a laser swept source that is constrained to operate in a mode locked condition using regenerative mode-locking This is accomplished by synchronously changing the laser cavity's net gain and/or phase based on time varying intensity of the swept optical signal generated by the laser. This produces a stable pulsation behavior, which is associated with smooth tuning (low optical frequency reference clock jitter) and low relative intensity noise (RIN).

Abstract: Transitioning from basic higher order MIMO estimation to enhanced higher order MIMO estimation (and vice-versa) can be accomplished through the signaling of high-speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) shared control channel (HS-SCCH) orders to next-generation user equipments (UEs). A base station can be configured to send an HS-SCCH order indicating activation of scheduled pilot channels, and then begin transmitting the scheduled pilot channels after receiving an ACK message from at least one next-generation UE. A base station can also be configured to send an HS-SCCH order indicating de-activation of scheduled pilot channels to next-generation UEs scheduled for downlink transmission, and then stop transmitting the scheduled pilot channels after receiving ACK messages from each next-generation UE.

Abstract: In some embodiments, methods for forming a masking pattern for an integrated circuit are disclosed. In one embodiment, mandrels defining a first pattern are formed in a first masking layer over a target layer. A second masking layer is deposited to at least partially fill spaces of the first pattern. Sacrificial structures are formed between the mandrels and the second masking layer. After depositing the second masking layer and forming the sacrificial structures, the sacrificial structures are removed to define gaps between the mandrels and the second masking layer, thereby defining a second pattern. The second pattern includes at least parts of the mandrels and intervening mask features alternating with the mandrels. The second pattern may be transferred into the target layer. In some embodiments, the method allows the formation of features having a high density and a small pitch while also allowing the formation of features having various shapes and sizes.

Abstract: Methods and devices for sensing non-volatile storage are disclosed. Technology disclosed herein reduces the time for sensing operations of non-volatile storage such as read and program verify. In one embodiment, a kicking voltage is applied to a selected word line during a sensing operation. The kicking voltage may be applied to one end of a selected word line during a transition from a first reference voltage to a second reference voltage. The kicking voltage may help the other end of the word line reach the second reference voltage quickly. Since the bit lines can be sensed after the selected word line has reached the target reference voltage, the time delay prior to sensing of the bit lines may be reduced.
