  • Publication number: 20140185692
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention multiplex elementary streams without timing information coded to create a transport stream. In some embodiments, ‘n’ number of access units are constructed and pushed into a list one by one. Each access unit is capable of looking ahead to obtain information on timing for the next access unit. A header is constructed by calculating timing information from the topmost access unit of the list. Said header is written in the transport stream and the remaining bytes of the transport stream are filled with data from the said elementary stream. Thus the transport stream is constructed.

  • Patent number: 8762096
Abstract: A modulation error is detected every symbol data to generate a trigger signal. The present invention focuses that there are limited patterns of shifts from one symbol data to the next one of the digital modulation signal. Measured values of amplitude, phase and/or frequency of symbol data are latched and then values at the next symbol timing are predicted from the latched measured values using said feature. The predicted and measured values are compared at the following symbol timing. If the difference (error) is over an acceptable range, a trigger signal is provided which allows acquiring a modulation error by symbol data.

  • Patent number: 8744479
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for locating at least one mobile radio subscriber in a mobile radio network. The mobile radio subscriber transmits a measurement report that includes an itemization identifying at least two transmitting stations. A value correlated with the receive field strength of a signal from the transmitting stations is allocated to each transmitting station. A table is organized according to geographic units of a presettable area. A pre-calculated value correlated with the receive field strength of a signal from a transmitting station is allocated to each transmitting station. The transmitting stations are organized according to the values correlated with the receive field strength of the signal from the respective transmitting station. • Patent number: 8744798
Abstract: A signal generator generates amplitude noise on a selected segment of a test signal. A user interface is used for selecting a segment of the test signal and an associated power level for applying amplitude noise at a selected power level to the test signal segment. A signal processing unit compiles the selected power level of the selected segment with the test signal to generate digital data representative of the test signal with selected segments having amplitude noise. A waveform generator receives the digital data and generating a test signal output having amplitude noise at selected segments of the test signal. The method includes the steps of: selecting a segment of the test signal to add amplitude noise; selecting a power level for the amplitude noise; and applying the amplitude noise at the selected power level to the selected segment of the test signal.

  • Patent number: 8713083
Abstract: Digital fine delay processing provides an accurate and continuous delay for an analog signal generated from source digital data. A digital processor generates processed digital data corresponding to a delayed analog signal having a desired delay relative to the analog signal represented by the source digital data. The processed digital data is directly derived from the source digital data by digital processing, and both digital data are processed by a reference clock, or by the same phase and cycle of the reference clock. The processed digital data is converted into a the delayed analog signal. Modifying coefficients in a convolution function performed by the digital processor changes the desired delay so that the delay is accurately controlled and is continuous. Since the entire process is digital, degradation of the delayed analog signal is minimal.

  • Patent number: 8594165
Abstract: A half-symbol constellation display for readily providing better observability of signal distortions in a modulated signal representing symbols of information uses a sample clock derived from a symbol clock for the modulated signal, the sample clock having the same period as the symbol clock but being shifted one-half period in phase with respect to the symbol clock. Quadrature component signals of the modulated signal are sampled using the sample clock to produce sample pairs, referred to as pseudo-symbols, that are symmetric about a symbol sample point. The pseudo-symbols form a plurality of clusters when displayed on a quadrature coordinate plane, with the diameter of each cluster being determined by the outer pseudo-symbols for the corresponding symbols. The circumferences of such clusters for an ideal modulated signal may be displayed as a template to make it easier to recognize the shift of the pseudo-symbols from the ideal locations due to distortions in the modulated signal.

  • Patent number: 8483341
Abstract: A signal generation system maintains a phase relationship between output signals of first and second signal generators even when the sampling clock frequency is changed. The signal generators are coupled via a communication means including a dedicated cable where the delay amount of the communication means is known and fixed. The first signal generator provides sampling clock, sequence clock and trigger/event signals to the second signal generator and CPUs of the generators share information via the cable. When the frequency of the sampling clock is changed, the CPU of the first or second signal generator calculates the clock number of the frequency changed sampling clock equivalent to the delay amount of the communication means. A delay circuit of the first signal generator 100 delays the waveform data by one sampling clock based on the calculated value for adjusting phase relationship between the waveform data in the signal generators 1.
