Patents Assigned to Teroson GmbH
  • Patent number: 4565883
Abstract: Adhesive composition consisting of .alpha.-cyanoacrylate, one or more sulphonic acid derivatives as stabilizers and conventional additives. The stabilizers are sulphonic acid derivatives having the general formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 is a trimethylsilyl group, R.sup.2 a halogen atom, an alkyl group, a perfluoroalkyl group, a cycloalkyl group or an aryl group or R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 together, accompanied by cyclization, represent a group of the general formula ##STR2## in which Z is a substituted or unsubstituted phenylene radical. Preferred are combinations of compounds in which in one R.sup.1 is a trimethylsilyl group and in the other R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 form the aforementioned ring group. (Dihydroxy)-organylboranes and bis(dihydroxyboryl)-derivatives can be used as costabilizers. The storage stability obtained with the stabilizers according to the invention is excellent, without impairing the setting rate and the strength of the bonds obtained.

  • Patent number: 4517133
Abstract: Sulfonyl isocyanates having the formula R--SO.sub.2 --NCO (wherein R is a C.sub.1 - to C.sub.18 - alkyl radical, a phenyl radical, a C.sub.1 - to C.sub.18 - alkyl phenyl radical or an isocayanate group) are obtained in high yield and excellent purity by reaction of the corresponding sulfonyl chlorides R--SO.sub.2 --Cl with trimethyl silyl isocynate in the presence of catalytic amounts of Lewis acids. The preferred Lewis acids are halides having the formula AX.sub.n (A=B, Al, Ti, Sn, V, Sb, Fe or Zn; n=valence of A).

  • Patent number: 4421807
Abstract: A sheet-like sealing web for use in construction above and under ground comprises a resilient elastic pressure-sensitive adhesive and sealing composition enclosed between two flexible layers, said lower layer not covering the sealing composition in the vicinity of one longitudinal edge of the web and said upper layer not covering the sealing composition in the vicinity of the opposite longitudinal edge of the web, thus forming two exposed sealing strips for bonding the webs to each other in an overlapping position. The novel sealing web can be further modified so that the adhesive and coating composition is not covered by said upper and said lower flexible layer in a narrow area along the longitudinal edges of the web opposite to the sealing strips, thus forming two exposed fixation strips for securing the web to a substrate or for bonding a cover material to the sealing web.

  • Patent number: 4414347
Abstract: A rapid setting .alpha.-cyanoacrylate-based adhesive composition having an improved stabilizer therein. The stabilizer is a sulfamide derivative containing the group ##STR1## Stabilizing may be further improved by using the sulfamides in combination with phenolic anti-oxidants, particularly sterically hindered phenols, without reducing the curing rate of the composition.
