    Abstract: A stabilization tool supports a blood vessel for suturing during cardiovascular surgery. The support vessel may typically be part of an artificial graft used in replacing an aortic arch. The stabilization tool has a central shaft with a mounting element at a first end. A plurality of retractable arms have their distal ends affixed to a second end of the central shaft. The retractable arms are movable between a nested position flanking the central shaft and a range of extended positions wherein proximal ends of the retractable arms are spaced away from the central shaft. A closing ring is slidable over the retractable arms from a deployed position adjacent the second end of the central shaft to a retracted position spaced away from the second end to move the retractable arms.

A cutter is adapted to cut a predetermined pattern having a selected leaflet size. A tissue marker automatically aligned with the predetermined cutting pattern is configured to mark suture positions on the leaflet in response to placement of the cutter. Cutting of a leaflet from the tissue sheet and marking of suture positions on the leaflet are obtained concurrently. A set of such devices spanning a variety of leaflet sizes may be provided in a kit that results in an ability to quickly obtain a properly sized and marked leaflet for reconstruction.

    Abstract: A device for joining individual leaflets for repairing a cardiac valve of a patient has a base and projection fingers rising from the base to support adjacent leaflets for tacking together by sewing overlapping edges of adjacent leaflets prior to emplacement into the patient. The invention provides a cutting tool for excising leaflets from a pericardial tissue sheet according to predetermined sizes and shapes. A leaflet having a desired contour and size is obtained by pressing the tool formed as a cutter block against the tissue sheet. A set of blocks can be provided wherein each cutter block has an outer edge following a respective contour and size for a leaflet, and wherein the outer edge includes a raised cutting edge for pressing through the pericardial tissue sheet. The blocks can be held in a press for assisting in pushing the cutting edge through the tissue.

The ring segments independently extend longitudinally to provide a variable gap between the ring segments to capture, cut, and cauterize side branches to the target vessel between the ring segments.

    Abstract: An endoscopic vessel harvester includes a vessel keeper for capturing a target vessel within a tunnel that has been dissected along the target vessel. A cutter member cuts and cauterizes side branches while the target vessel is slidably captured in the vessel keeper. A spray nozzle carried by the vessel keeper delivers a preservative fluid via a manual control valve and a conduit. The preservative fluid is sprayed on the target vessel proximate a respective side branch immediately after being cauterized. Thus, a harvested vessel is bathed in preservative fluid prior to being actually removed from the body, enhancing endothelial preservation from cascading events.
