Abstract: A method of separating blood cell components, characterized in that a blood cells suspension containing red cells and at least one of leucocytes and blood platelets is passed through a processing column packed with an Egyptian cotton which has been de-fatted and bleached, thereby allowing the blood cells components other than the red cells to be adsorbed substantially completely on the Egyptian cotton and permitting the red cells portion alone to be isolated.
Abstract: Disclosed is a blood filtering bag comprising a bag body provided with a blood inlet and a blood outlet, and a filter supported by a support member and dividing the bag body into two parts -- inlet side part and outlet side part. The support member is thermally fused to a peripheral portion of the bag body.
Abstract: Disclosed is a mechanism for allowing blood bags to communicate with each other comprising a connection pipe, a connection tube fitted into and bonded to said connection pipe, for connecting a first blood bag to a second blood bag, and a hard plastic-made communication pipe whose one end on the side of said first blood bag is hermetically sealed and the other end of which is fitted into and bonded to said connection tube and which is formed with a cutting-off small thickness section at its intermediate portion. The communication between said first and second blood bags is rendered effective by cutting off said communication pipe at said small thickness section.
