Patents Assigned to Tetra Pak Developpement SA
  • Patent number: 4090343
Abstract: The invention is concerned with a process of making a package of pressurized fluid, said package having an inner container of plastics and a shell of non-extensible material. A tube of flexible plastics is filled with a gas-containing fluid (e.g., beer), and sealed along two parallel sealing zones, spaced from each other by a distance less than the length of the seals, and cut along the seals thereby forming a filled container. This latter is immediately enclosed in a stiff outer shell or sleeve, open at its ends, the filled container's seams being wholly within the shell so that the portions of the container accessible at the ends of the shell are seamless.

  • Patent number: 4078688
Abstract: A container having a neck portion provided with an inwardly turned downwardly extending flange element is engaged with a cap device having a depending skirt portion which engages the flange element of the neck of the container so that when the container is filled with an aerated beverage or the like the pressure thereof is exerted against the cap device so as to enhance the sealing engagement of the cap device in the neck of the bottle.

  • Patent number: 4005975
Abstract: Two parts of foam plastics are connected together by heating a portion of the first part so that it will melt, while the corresponding portion of the second part is kept at a considerably lower temperature, preferably room or ambient temperature. After the heating of the first portion the parts are immediately brought together, whereby a surface layer of the second part rapidly melts, whereupon the second part serves as a heat dissipating means to provide a rapid hardening of the molten portions. After the two parts have been put together, a pressure applying means can be pressed against the joint formed between the parts.

  • Patent number: 3935968
Abstract: A composite container structure for fluent materials such as a liquid which is composed of an external cylindrical sleeve made from a relatively rigid material and an internal cylindric liner of plastic material for receiving the liquid. The internal liner terminates in a hemi-spherical bottom within the sleeve and the upper portion of the liner which projects beyond the sleeve has a dome-shaped configuration which terminates in a central inturned threaded neck forming a filling and pouring opening that is closed by an externally threaded plug portion of a screw type cap.
