  • Patent number: 11208969
Abstract: An inlet arrangement is disclosed herein for use with a supersonic jet engine configured to consume air at a predetermined mass flow rate when the supersonic jet engine is operating at a predetermined power setting and moving at a predetermined Mach speed. The air inlet arrangement includes, but is not limited to, a cowl having a cowl lip and a center body coaxially aligned with the cowl. A protruding portion of the center body extends upstream of the cowl lip for a length greater than a conventional spike length. The protruding portion is configured to divert air flowing over the protruding portion out of a pathway of an inlet to the supersonic jet engine such that a remaining airflow approaching and entering the inlet matches the predetermined mass flow rate.

  • Patent number: 11212015
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products are described for automatically reducing interference within received signals. A first radio frequency (RF) signal having (i) a desired component and (ii) an interference component with a noise component and a jammed component is received. A trained machine learning (ML) model extracts, from the RF signal, the jammed component and a portion of the noise component. The trained ML model generates and outputs a second RF signal comprising the desired component and a reduced noise component. The reduced noise component has the portion of the noise component removed. The jammed component is removed from the second RF signal.

  • Publication number: 20210397183
Abstract: The processor supplies flight commands to the flight control system by selectively blending pilot input with control signals from the autopilot. The processor generates a projected recovery trajectory through successive iterations, each beginning at the current aircraft location and using a recovery constraint selectable by the processor to influences a degree of flight aggressiveness. A detection system that identifies and invokes a state of threat existence if a threat exists along the projected recovery trajectory. The processor during threat existence in a first iteration commands an initial soft recovery, with permitted blended pilot input. If the threat exists on subsequent iteration, the processor commands a more aggressive recovery while attenuating blended pilot input.

  • Patent number: 11170752
Abstract: The pilot communication system employs a transducer array of individual spaced apart speakers and/or microphones for deployment within the cockpit. A signal processing circuit interfaces with the transducer array and also with the aircraft avionics communication system, and selectively applies different time delays to the individual speakers and/or microphones to create in the array an acoustic beam having steerable coverage within the acoustic space of the cockpit. By adjusting the time delays the signal processing circuit directs and focuses sound from the speakers to the pilot and similarly focuses the microphones on the pilot's mouth. In this way the pilots can communicate with each other and with air traffic control without the need to wear headsets. The system also significantly reduces flight deck warnings from being introduced into the cabin environment.
