Abstract: An electrochemical impedance spectrogram (EIS) measurement system includes a working electrode configured to provide a triangular excitation signal to a subject, and a counter electrode configured to measure an electrical parameter in response to the triangular excitation signal. Based on the triangular excitation signal and the measured electrical parameter, an EIS of the subject is obtained. A method for measuring an EIS of a subject includes causing a triangular excitation signal to be applied to a subject and obtaining electrical parameter measurements in response to the triangular excitation signal. The EIS of the subject is obtained based on the triangular excitation signal and the electrical parameter measurements.

Abstract: Embodiments may provide techniques that protect voice-controllable devices and systems such that the microphone can be shielded from attacking modulated laser beams. Embodiments may provide a physical device that may include two or more layers of integrated material that sits on top of the microphones of the voice-controllable devices and/or systems. The device may act as a physical barrier against the injected malicious laser beams while allowing sound waves reach the microphone for normal operation. For example, in an embodiment, an apparatus may comprise a first layer including at least one opening and a second layer including at least one opening, wherein the at least one opening in the first layer and the at least one opening in the second layer are arranged so as to block the passage of light, but to allow the passage of sound.

Abstract: A gaze tracking platform for human-machine interface device, such as a wearable Augmented Reality Near-to-Eye Display. The gaze tracking method, digital illumination assisted analog feedback tracking employs neither auxiliary camera nor digital image processing of human eye image that confronts challenges in gaze tracking speed, power, cost and space. Instead, an analog-digital hybrid method to track the gaze inspired by the groove tracking method that is widely adopted for optical data storage systems. In the method, a digital micromirror device generates angular modulated and infrared illuminating beam. The cornea reflects the infrared light and a segmented photodiode detects the reflection while providing a feedback servo signal to the digital micromirror device controller. The feedback signal is integrated over a time provides the variation gaze. Moreover, infrared and angularly modulated illumination is time-multiplexed with information displayed in visible wavelength.
