Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for evaluating a lung via ultrasound. A plurality of ultrasound images are generated at each of a plurality of locations on a lung using an ultrasound imager to provide a plurality of images. Respective grades are assigned to each of the plurality of images according to an amount of B-line artifact in the image to generate a plurality of grades for the lung. A composite score for the lung is calculated from the plurality of grades. The composite score represents a general assessment of the lung. The composite score is provided to a user at an associated output device.

Abstract: Embodiments facilitate prediction of anti-vascular endothelial growth (anti-VEGF) therapy response in DME patients. A first set of embodiments discussed herein relates to training of a machine learning classifier to determine a prediction for response to anti-VEGF therapy based on a set of graph-network features and a set of morphological features generated based on FA images of tissue demonstrating DME. A second set of embodiments discussed herein relates to determination of a prediction of response to anti-VEGF therapy for a DME patient (e.g., non-rebounder vs. rebounder, response vs. non-response) based on a set of graph-network features and a set of morphological features generated based on FA imagery of the patient.

Abstract: Methods of treating acute heart failure in a patient in need thereof. Methods include inserting a therapy delivery device into a pulmonary artery of the patient and applying a therapy signal to autonomic cardiopulmonary fibers surrounding the pulmonary artery. The therapy signal affects heart contractility more than heart rate. Specifically, the application of the therapy signal increases heart contractility and treats the acute heart failure in the patient. The therapy signal can include electrical or chemical modulation.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for correlating functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) with gene expression. Brains of first and second sets of patients are imaged at first and second times to provide first and second sets of fMRI images. Blood is drawn from each of the first and second sets of patients at the first and second times to provide first and second sets of gene expression transcripts. A therapeutic is administered to the first set of patients between the first and second times. A change in the connectivity of the brain for each patient is determined from the first and second sets of fMRI images. A set of changes in the peripheral lymphocyte gene expression that are correlated with changes in the connectivity of the brain are determined from the change in the connectivity of the brain for each patient and the collected imaging and gene expression data.
Abstract: An interventional procedure can be performed less invasively with live 3D holographic guidance and navigation. Advantageously, the 3D holographic guidance and navigation overcomes the limitations of conventional displays of medical images on standard 2D flat panel screens. The live 3D holographic guidance can utilize a 3D holographic visualization that is derived from complementary imaging modalities (e.g., ultrasound and computed tomography) to provide a complete holographic view of a portion of the patient's body to enable navigation of a tracked interventional instrument/device.
