Abstract: A support module includes a first rigid body, a space formation body connected to the first rigid body and forming an enclosed space, and a plurality of hard particles located within the enclosed space. When at least a predetermined pressure is applied to the support module such that a volume of the enclosed space is decreased to a predetermined value, the plurality of hard particles and space formation body form a second rigid body. Such a support module may improve the stability of a walking robot, the grip of a gripping structure, or the stability of a load-bearing structure.

Abstract: Provided is an apparatus and method for controlling a portable terminal. The apparatus includes a contact sensing unit which senses an area of an external surface of the portable terminal contacted by a user as the user holds the portable terminal, a recognizing unit which recognizes a function mode of the portable terminal based on information about the contacted area sensed by the contact sensing unit, and a control unit which changes the portable terminal to a function mode recognized by the recognizing unit. Since a function mode of the portable terminal is controlled according to the way a user holds the portable terminal, convenience of changing a function mode of the portable terminal is provided through a single manipulation.

Abstract: A method and apparatus of exchanging information on the number of layers which is supported commonly between the base station and the terminals in Multi-User Multiple Input Multiple Output (MU-MIMO) environment is provided for performance enhancement. The communication method of a terminal in a wireless communication system according to the present disclosure includes receiving a reference signal and information on a number of layers supportable simultaneously from a base station, measuring a channel state value based on the reference signal and the number of layers, determining whether the measured channel state value fulfills a minimum required channel state value, and transmitting, when the measured channel state value fulfills the minimum required channel state value, a value determined based on the measured channel state value to the base station.

The disclosed image sensor includes a pixel array including a plurality of unit pixels arranged in a matrix form having rows and columns, a binning sampling unit configured to output a binning sampling signal according to an average of signals from two or more unit pixels selected from among the unit pixels of each of the columns, and an analog-to-digital converter configured to convert the binning sampling signal to a digital signal. The selected unit pixels have different exposure times.

A first contact hole and a second contact hole are defined in the first and second passivation layers. The pixel electrode and the drain electrode are connected to each other through the second contact hole. The connecting member and the common electrode are connected to each other through the first contact hole.

Abstract: In an amorphous silicon thin film transistor-liquid crystal display device and a method of manufacturing the same, gate patterns including a gate line and a gate electrode are formed on an insulation substrate having a display region and a driving circuit region on which a plurality of shift resistors are formed. A gate insulating film, active layer patterns and data patterns including source/drain electrodes are formed successively on the substrate. Abstract: LCD device includes two substrates, a first and second color filters, two liquid crystal layers. The first color filters are formed on portions of the second substrate corresponding to border area The second color filters are formed on portions of the second substrate corresponding to the display area except the border area. A first liquid crystal layer between the first and the second substrate is comprised in border area, and a zero electric field is formed on the first liquid crystal layer so as to completely transmit light incident into the first liquid crystal layer therethrough. A borderline having various colors can be displayed by forming various patterns of color filters having various colors on portions of the second substrate corresponding to the border area under normally white mode, thereby producing picture frame effect while images are displayed on the screen.
