Abstract: A handle for a shaving razor in which the handle comprises a frame and a movable member assembly operably coupled to the frame such that the frame is disposed between the movable member assembly and where the movable member assembly portions are configured to move both above and below the frame. The movement can be linear or rotational. The movable member assembly comprises one or more springs. A method of manufacturing a razor handle comprising the steps of providing an upper portion with one or more upper elements, providing a lower portion with one or more lower elements, securing the upper portion to the lower portion wherein a rigid member extends between the upper portion and the lower portion.

Abstract: Artificial intelligence based systems and methods are described for analyzing pixel data of an image of a user's body for determining a hair growth direction value of the user's hair. An example method includes aggregating a plurality of training images of a plurality of users' bodies, and training a hair growth direction model operable to output a hair growth direction value. The example method may further include receiving an image of a user comprising pixel data of a portion of the user's body or body area, and analyzing, by the hair growth direction model, the image to determine a user-specific hair growth direction value of the user's hair. The example method may further include generating a product recommendation, wherein the product is designed to address a feature identifiable within the pixel data of the user's body or body area.
Abstract: A razor blade including: a substrate having a tip portion including a tip region, a blade body including a base, and first and second outer sides disposed opposite a split line of the substrate that converge at a tip; and first and second coatings disposed substantially on the first and second outer sides, respectively. Also provided is a method of coating the razor blade, including: applying a first coating to at least a portion of the first outer side; and applying a second coating to at least a portion of the second outer side. The first and second coatings each extend from the tip region toward the base and are substantially different, as compared to each other.

Abstract: A subassembly for a shaving razor cartridge with a base having a front wall with a top surface and a rear wall with a top surface. At least one blade is mounted to the base between the front wall and the rear wall. The at least one blade has a cutting edge positioned at least 0.5 mm above a plane tangent to the top surface of the front wall and the top surface of the rear wall.

Abstract: A consumer appliance with a body. A cartridge removably mounted to the body. The cartridge having a surface with a first colored region and a second colored region. A control circuit positioned within the body. A first emitter that projects a first light at the first colored region and a second light at the second colored region. A first light sensor mounted the body that sends a first signal to the control circuit based on a color of light reflected from the first colored region. A second light sensor mounted to the body that sends a second signal to the control circuit based on a color of the light reflected from the second colored region.

Abstract: A razor handle. The razor handle can have a main body and a pivoting head pivotally coupled with the main body about a first axis of rotation. A severable benefit delivery member can extend from a main body connection on the main body to a pivoting head connection on the pivoting head, the benefit delivery member providing a first biasing torque on the pivoting head to affect an angular deflection about the first axis of rotation of the pivoting head relative to the main body. A spring member can extend from a spring-main-body connection on the main body to a spring-pivoting-head connection on the pivoting head, the spring member applying a second biasing torque to affect an angular deflection about the first axis of rotation of the pivoting head relative to the main body.
