Patent number: 10879877Abstract: Provided herein is an implementation of a finite impulse response (FIR) filter that uses a distributed arithmetic architecture. In one or more example, a data sample with multiple bits is processed through a plurality of bit-level multiply and accumulate circuits, wherein each bit of the data sample corresponds to a bit of the data sample. The output of each bit-level multiply and accumulate circuit can then be shifted by an appropriate amount based on the bit placement of the bit of the data sample that corresponds to the bit-level multiply and accumulate circuit. After each output is shifted by the appropriate amount, the outputs can be aggregated to form a final FIR filter result.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2018Date of Patent: December 29, 2020Assignee: The MITRE CorporationInventor: Rishi Yadav

Patent number: 10874343Abstract: The disclosure provides for easy, reliable, and rapid screening of a mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) based on a modeling of a subject's tracking of a dynamic target during the course of a simple motor tracking task. The gathered tracking data can be used to calculate tracking errors between the subject's actual input (e.g., grip force) and the intended target input. The tracking errors may be used to generate numerical values for model parameters that correlate the subject's responses to the tracking errors during the course of the dynamic motor tracking task. A classification model may be used to compare the model values to multi-subject model values of known diagnoses for mTBI. The entire screening process can be effectively administered in a matter of minutes or less, and with a high degree of accuracy.Type: GrantFiled: June 13, 2018Date of Patent: December 29, 2020Assignee: The MITRE CorporationInventors: Michael S. Patent number: 10862919Abstract: Described are systems and methods for evaluating cyber effects in a cyber-physical system (CPS). In some embodiments, a simulation model of the CPS is built and includes an attacked component set and an evaluated component set. A control component is inserted into the simulation model. One or more direct connections between the attacked component set and the evaluated component set are disconnected. One or more indirect connections are identified and then disconnected from the simulation model with disconnected direct connections. The one or more direct connections and indirect connections are routed through the control component. A cyber-attack on the attacked component set can be simulated by configuring the control component to control outputs transmitted via a routed connection, the routed connection being one of the routed direct or indirect connections. The simulated components of the simulation model can be progressively and iteratively replaced by corresponding components from the CPS.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 2018Date of Patent: December 8, 2020Assignee: The MITRE CorporationInventors: Suresh K. Patent number: 10854993Abstract: An antenna element including a base plate, a first ground clustered pillar projecting from the base plate, a second ground clustered pillar projecting from the base plate and spaced apart from a first side of the first ground clustered pillar is provided. The ground clustered pillars, the signal ears, and the ground ears can be shapes so that the capacitive coupling between the ears and the pillars is sufficient to allow them to be spaced further apart, thereby reducing the number of elements required in the phased array. In some embodiments, the ground ear can be directly machined with the base plate thereby obviating the need for the ground ear to be overmolded into the base plate with the signal ear. In other embodiments the phased array antenna can utilize elastomeric connectors to further improve the mechanical and electrical reliability of the connections of the phase array antenna.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2017Date of Patent: December 1, 2020Assignee: The MITRE CorporationInventors: Cecelia Franzini, Mohamed Wajih Elsallal, Jamie Hood

Publication number: 20200319326Abstract: A system and method for generating communications waveforms that can operate in congested frequency spaces and in applications in which the receiver is moving with respect to the transmitter is provided. In one or more examples, each symbol to be encoded and transmitted is converted into a sequence of frequency chirps. The sequence of frequencies used by the sequence of chirps is based on the symbol that is to be encoded. Each chirp can have a center frequency, and the frequency can be swept over the duration of the chirp. In this way each chirp can have a varying frequency over the duration of the chirp, but the phase of the chirp can be continuous throughout the duration of the chirp. The bandwidth and sweep rate of the chirp can be based on the expected maximum velocity of the receiver and the transmitter relative to one another.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 21, 2019Publication date: October 8, 2020Applicant: The MITRE CorporationInventors: Perry F.
