Abstract: A hinged unit that serves as a security door step to prevent opening of a slidable door. The unit consists of a pair of bars pivotably linked together at adjoining ends and of a length to fit in the extended position, between an external bottom side edge of a slidable door and the bottom side edge of the door frame within the bottom channel in which the door slides to block movement of the door in the closed door position. The hinge line is located below the horizontal longitudinal axis of the joined bars in the extended position. A pivoted kicker plate is pivoted to one bar so that downward pressure on the kicker plate serves to raise the hinge point above the horizontal axis so that the bars will fold upward about the hinge point to permit the bars to fold against the door frame along a vertical axis as the door is opened.

Abstract: A tennis net designed to permit balls striking the net to pass through the net for ready retrieval. The net is formed of a pair of spaced horizontal tension members, each covered by a fabric strip to which the loops of a continuous length of flexible net cord are fastened so as to orient the flexible net cord perpendicular to the spaced tension members which support the flexible cord as a series of spaced parallel vertical members. The flexible cord may readily separate when struck by a tennis ball to permit the ball to pass through the net, while indicating by their action and the impedance to the ball, that the ball is out of play.

Abstract: A device for installation to a telephone which prevents the telephone from ringing except for incoming calls from selected individuals who have been furnished a key device. The key device emits an audible tone into the mouthpiece of the calling telephone which signals the installed device at the called telephone location to accept the call and actuate the called telephone bell or signal. The installed device is connected to the telephone wire of the installed telephone with electronic circuitry that disconnects the ringing current circuit to the installed phone immediately upon the appearance of the ringing current on the phone line, thus preventing ringing of the called telephone bell. The device then sends an electrical signal, which is recognizable as an audible tone, in the receiver of the calling telephone.

Abstract: A guitar, the neck of which is hinged to the guitar body so as to be foldable into a shaped recess in the back of the body. The strings of the guitar are individually attached at one end to the neck and at the other end to a common bridge unit. The bridge unit is attached to a first clamp on the face of the body in the erect position of the neck and to a second clamp recessed below the face side of the body in the folded neck position. Grooves are formed in the guitar body to individually retain each guitar string in the folded neck position.

Abstract: A quilt shaped to fit about the top surface, sides and bottom edges of a mattress. The quilt is formed of insulated cotton material with a continuous electrical heating element embedded in the top sheet which is covered by a waterproof plastic cover sheet bonded to the top sheet. The heating element is externally connected to a control box for regulating the flow of the electricity to the heating element.

Abstract: A pipe tee unit which may be mounted to a pipe for attachment of an extension tube to the pipe. The tee unit is formed of a pair of clamp members which are each formed with a circular concave recess of less than semi-circular section on their respective inner faces for clamping about a cylindrical pipe. One of the clamp members is externally fitted with a threaded nipple formed with a through hole for use in guiding a drill so as to cut a hole in a pipe clamped by the two members, when the two members are bolted together about a pipe. An extension tube fitted to a threaded collar is then fastened by the said collar to the nipple.

Abstract: A portable heating device for such applications as popping corn or heating liquids or infants' bottles of milk which employs a cup shaped member containing an electric heating element electrically insulated from the member which is disposed between an open relatively large round top end having an internal thread and a closed relatively small round bottom end having an external thread. An electrical connector is secured to the outside of the cup and is electrically connected to said element. A vertical cylindrically shaped sleeve open at its top end has a bottom end engaging the top end of the member. A vertically flexible hollow cylinder is disposed along side of the member and sleeve, the bottom end of the cylinder being closed, the top end being open. A hollow deflector chute extends between the sleeve and the cylinder, the chute having two spaced open ends, one chute end being connected to the top end of the cylinder, the other chute end being connected to the top end of the sleeve.

Abstract: A disposable grease absorbing device has a pad of grease absorbent material. A sheet of liquid-impervious material is affixed to the grease absorbent material and covers one of the surfaces thereof. A sheet of wrapping material larger than approximately half the area of a surface of the pad is affixed next-adjacent the liquid-impervious material to form a main pocket and is folded over on itself to form an inner pocket. After use, when the grease absorbent material is saturated with grease, it is foldable in a manner whereby the wrapping material restrains it in folded condition with the liquid-impervious material on the outside, so that the grease does not contact or stain anything other than the pad.

Abstract: A portable snow blower which may be employed on the roof of a building or vehicle to remove snow without damage to the roof on which the snow lies. The unit is formed of a shaped housing fitted at its rear with an external handle and enclosing a powered air blower. The discharge opening of the blower is located at a forward tapered end section of the housing, with the opening extending across the top of the end section, and with the bottom portion of the end section of the housing being enclosed.

Abstract: Two vertically elongated shafts are mounted parallel to a wall, and are driven by a motor-powered mechanism that moves the shafts up and down in simple harmonic motion. Any one of a plurality of scratching attachments can be detachably secured between the ends of the shafts.

Abstract: Each of a pair of drawer channel members is affixed to a correspondong side of a drawer having spaced opposite sides and opens outward toward a frame having a chamber therein accommodating the drawer and having spaced opposite sides, the sides being parallel. Each of a pair of frame channel members is affixed to a corresponding side of the frame in the chamber and opens inward toward the drawer and is positioned adjacent the corresponding drawer channel member. The channel members are positioned parallel. Each of a pair of extension bars is slidably positioned between a corresponding one of the drawer channel members and the adjacent frame channel member. Each of the channel members and each of the extension bars is shaped in a manner whereby each of the extension bars restrains, or is restrained by, the corresponding drawer channel member and frame channel member in sliding next-adjacent relation. Bores are formed through the extension bars.

Abstract: An annular flange extends radially from the rim around the open top of a container in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the container. The flange is integrally formed with the container and has a plurality of notches formed therein and extending radially inwardly from the outer edge of the flange. The flange has a planar top surface and tapered bottom surfaces forming a plurality of inverted inclined planes relative to the top surface, each extending from one of the notches to the next-adjacent notch in the same direction around the flange. A lid has a plurality of lock members formed thereon in the same angular relation as the notches of the container whereby each of the lock members is simultaneously passable through a corresponding one of the notches of the flange of the container.

Abstract: A latch for sliding doors, having a first plate fixed to the heel of one of the doors and a second plate hingedly attached to the end of the second plate. When the plates are folded together, they are parallel. When the plates are folded at right angles to each other, a screw threaded into the second plate engages a recess in the other door, preventing the doors from sliding relative to each other.

Abstract: A pair of long sleeves of a shirt are severed above the elbow to provide short sleeves extending from the shirt and a pair of arm covering parts independent therefrom. The arm covering parts are zipped to the short sleeves by zippers which are covered by inner flaps to prevent contact between the zipper and the arm and outer flaps to hide the zippers.

Abstract: A bowl-like housing has an open mouth. A locking device selectively locks the housing coaxially around the fifth wheel pin of a truck trailer thereby obstructing such pin and preventing coupling thereof to a tractor.

Abstract: A pad forming a concave lower edge and a concave upper edge and forming a plurality of air openings through the surface of the pad is attached around a buttocks area of a user by a strap with a button hole connecting to a strap with a button at a distal end of the strap, additional straps attached to the lower concave edge of the pad pass through the groin of the user and engage additional button holes formed in the straps that go around the body of the user, the pad may be filled with a sponge rubber material, and a bandage may be secured by the pad to the buttocks area of the user to cover bed sores.

Abstract: A handle member extends radially from a hollow cylindrical ring having a pair of spaced circular opposite edges. A trough-like member extends radially from the ring diametrically opposite the handle member and has a square U cross-section extending from an opening into the ring. A retainer piece is affixed to the handle member and extends beyond an edge of the ring for retaining the head of a ratchet device coaxially positioned in the ring with the handle member of the ratchet device accommodated for part of its length in the trough-like member. A keeper piece is removably affixed to the trough-like member for keeping the handle member of the ratchet device in the trough-like member.

Abstract: A portable carrying case fitted with a slidable drawer, with the front face of the drawer forming a first external side of the case in the closed drawer position and fitted on a second adjacent exterior side of the case with a retractable carrying handle that fits flush with the case side. A recess in the interior of the case extends to the second exterior case side and is closed by a tab slidably mounted in the said second case side. The top and bottom exterior case sides are fitted with matching detents and recesses so that one case may be stacked on top of a second similar case in a non-slidable, but removable, configuration to form a fixed cabinet.

Abstract: Top, bottom and a pair of side panel type members are affixed to each other at their ends to form a rectangular configuration. A pair of foot members are pivotally affixed to the bottom member in juxtaposition therewith in spaced relation with each other in a manner whereby the foot members are positioned in alignment with the members in inoperable position and extend at right angles with the bottom member, although in a plane parallel to that of the bottom member, in operable position whereby they support the saw horse in an upright position.

Abstract: A table has a plurality of support legs releasably affixed thereto. Each of the legs has support member for length adjustment thereof. A plurality of short legs, a fraction of the length of the support legs, are releasably coupled to the table top for supporting the table a short distance above a supporting surface when the support legs are removed. A checker board is marked on the top of the table and a fouls circle is provided at the center thereof. A plurality of pockets are formed in the surface of the table top, each at a corresponding corner thereof. Each of a plurality of cue sticks is releasably clamped to a corresponding one of the support legs.
