    Abstract: A process for producing a pneumatic tire having high uniformity with a carcass ply formed of polyester cord, including the steps of: (a) spinning polyester at a tension at the solidifying point of melt polyester between 1.5.times.10.sup.7 and 7.5.times.10.sup.7 dyne/cm.sup.2 ; (b) drawing the polyester into a filament at a draw ration of 2.0 to 3.0; (c) twisting a polyester filament at a twist coefficient of from 800 to 2,500; and then (d) heat treating the filament so that the dimension unstabilizing factor is 8.5 or less. The polyester filament is made of polyester having an ethylene terephthalate component of at least 85 mol % and a high degree of polymerization such that the intrinsic viscosity is at least 0.8, and the ratio of the birefringence of the surface portion to that of the central portion in the polyester filament is from 1.03/1 to 1.15/1; the twist coefficient is represented by T.times..sqroot.

C. and lower than estimated glass transition temperature following Gordon-Taylor equation by 5.degree. to 10.degree. C. and a cured composition showing loss modulus of lower than 1.times.10.sup.-7 dyn/cm.sup.2 and a ratio of rolling resistance to wet grip being smaller than 0.82.

    Abstract: A fluid-damping vibration-isolating support device comprising a main support body having a rubber base member and a closed enclosure internally thereof; and a partition plate dividing the enclosure into two chambers which intercommunicate through an orifice and are filled with a liquid. The partition plate comprises a separator member and a stopper member. The separator member is formed of an outer peripheral thick wall portion having an orifice and an inner thin flat plate portion having at least one through-hole. The stopper member has two opposed plate sections provided so as to cover the through-hole and is captured to the separator member slightly movably to the degree that the plate sections are in contact with or separate from both faces of the flat plate portion. The stopper member serves to close upon low frequency vibration and open upon high frequency vibration, so that in the high frequency region rise of hydraulic pressure can be suppressed and dynamic spring rate can be lowered.

    Abstract: A method for adhering an urethane elastomer to a metal is disclosed, and comprises applying a thermosetting resin containing a flaky inorganic filler to a surface of a metal matrix, curing the thermosetting resin layer, applying an isocyanate-terminated prepolymer thereon, curing the prepolymer layer, and casting an urethane elastomer stock solution over the cured laminate. The adhesion obtained is excellent in durability against acids.

    Abstract: A vibration-absorbing engine mounting device with fluid damping which comprises: an upper mounting member, a lower mounting member, a rubber wall body interposed between both the mounting members with its upper and lower portions being air-tightly bonded to the upper and lower mounting members, respectively, a block damper transversely provided in the rubber wall body, and a capsule encased in a space enclosed by the former four members, thus defining a closed chamber enclosed by the former five members. The capsule comprises an exterior rigid case, an interior sealed bag encapsulated in the rigid case, defining a sacciform chamber and an orifice member entering the former two. The closed chamber and the sacciform chamber are filled with fluid, whereby they are put in communication with one another by the passage of fluid via the orifice member.

A reinforcing strip of organic textile cords may be further disposed outwardly adjacent to the reinforcing strip of steel cords.

    Abstract: Tubeless tires for trucks and buses have radial carcass plies of polyester cords turned up around bead wires from the lateral inside to the lateral outside of the carcass walls. Polyester cords of not less than 4,500 d are used for the carcass plies. The compressibility of an inner-bead portion, i.e. that portion of the bead between the bead wire and a bead base is 4% to 35% of the entire inner-bead portion and 7% to 70% of the rubber material portion thereof. The most preferable compressibility is 15% to 20% as to the entire inner-bead portion and 30% to 35% as to the rubber material portion.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a pneumatic safety tire, which is provided with a ring-shaped projection of high rigidity along its circumferential direction, outside of at least one bead of the pneumatic tire, wherein the projection has a smaller diameter than the diameter of the rim flange to which the tire is fitted. The ring-shaped projection is designed so that it projects to the outside along the rim flange, and moreover, the tire is adhered integrally by vulcanization together with two ring-shaped elastic reinforcements and halogenated butyl rubber-containing protective layer in the inside of the tire at each position corresponding to the portion from the sidewall to the adjacent shoulder.
