Abstract: The present embodiments demonstrate systems and methods for automated text correction. In certain embodiments, the methods and systems may be implemented through analysis according to a single text correction model. In a particular embodiment, the single text correction model may be generated through analysis of both a corpus of learner text and a corpus of non-learner text.
Abstract: A WSN has multiple sensor nodes, a bi-directional gateway sensor node, and a server. The WSN also includes circuitry configured to process a route request message from an origination sensor node to a destination sensor node. A message packet of each of the sensor nodes includes a minimum energy field, a minimum energy harvesting rate field, and a sum of energy field. The circuitry is also configured to determine a new delivery route based upon comparing a minimum energy and a minimum energy harvesting rate of an instant sensor node with a minimum energy and a minimum energy harvesting rate contained in the message packet, and select a lower minimum energy and a lower minimum energy harvesting rate from the instant sensor node or the message packet. The circuitry is also configured to broadcast the lower minimum energy and the lower minimum energy harvesting rate throughout the WSN.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for use in treating tinnitus, employs a sound processing unit, a tactile unit, and an interface therebetween. The tactile unit comprises an array of stimulators each of which can be independently actuated to apply a tactile stimulus to a subject, and an input for receiving a plurality of actuation signals from the interface and directing individual actuation signals to individual stimulators. The sound processing unit receives an audio signal at an input, analyses the signal with a digital signal processor to generate the actuation signals which are representative of the audio signal, and provides the plurality of actuation signals to the interface. In a preferred embodiment the digital signal processor divides the audio signal into a series of frames in the time domain, performs a transform on each frame to generate a set of coefficients representing said frame, and maps the set of coefficients to a set of actuation signals to be applied to the array.

Abstract: 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP), a precursor of serotonin, is produced in a microbial host cell. A modified bacterial phenylalanine 4-hydroxylase (P4H) catalyzes the tryptophan 5-hydroxylation reaction. Optionally the host cell includes a cofactor regeneration mechanism, allowing continuous production of 5-HTP without supplementation of exogenous cofactors.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a compound inhibiting HF-1 activity, a preparation method of the same, and a pharmaceutical composition comprising the same as an active ingredient. The compound of the present invention demonstrates anticancer activity not by non-selective cytotoxicity but by inhibiting the activity of HIF-1, the transcription factor playing an important role in cancer cell growth and metastasis. Accordingly, the compound or the pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof according to the present invention inhibits HIF-1 activity, and therefore can be used as a therapeutic agent for solid tumors such as colon cancer, liver cancer, stomach cancer and breast cancer. In addition, the compound or the pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof according to the present invention can be used as an active ingredient for a therapeutic agent for diabetic retinopathy or arthritis which may become worse when hypoxia-induced VEGF expression by HIF-1 increases.
