Abstract: A transmitter which includes N amplifiers connected together by a common signal input and which output to a common load. The transmitter also includes N identical series LC circuits, each connected between an amplifier output and the common load, with the common points between each inductance and capacitance connected together. The extremely modular nature of the device makes the transmitter easy to reconfigure if one of the amplifiers fails.
Abstract: A television camera tube with spurious image black-out screen is disclosed. Especially in image pick-up tubes where the electron beam, scanning a photosensitive target, is oriented by a system of electrostatic deflection, it has been observed that spurious images appear in the output video signal of the tube. These images are apparently due to a return beam that comes back from the target and strikes the accelerating electrode of the electron gun. To black out these spurious images, it is proposed to mask the accelerating electrode with a masking screen carried, in principle, to the same potential as the electrode, this screen being characterized by its rounded edges, with their convexity pointed towards the target. It is perforated with a central aperture, also provided with rounded edges.

The reading device includes an imaging device having a convex mirror and a concave mirror arranged to produce a magnification equal to -1. The device also includes a light source, a cylindrical lens and a detector device. The device is of compact dimensions, yet exhibits only slight aberrations and provides high resolution.
Abstract: A phase-locking device comprises a "fast" loop providing for the correction of the transient disturbances and a "slow" loop providing for correction on a wide range of phase shifts.
Abstract: The disclosure relates to the recognition of sequences of multidimensional images and, notably, of image signals. The disclosed device includes, for each of said sequences to be recognized, a first circuit for the correlation of vectors representing the signal with a masking vector determined from the vectors representing the sequence to be recognized, producing a series of values corresponding to the degree of similarity of the two correlated vectors, a second circuit for the correlation of a sequence of the series of values with a reference sequence determined from the vectors forming said sequence to be recognized, producing values that correspond to the degree of similarity of the two correlated sequences, and a circuit for deciding on the validity of the recognition, by comparison of the values corresponding to the degree of similarity of the two correlated sequences with a threshold value.

Abstract: A load for a stripline integrated into a three-plate structure is formed by a resonant cavity filled with absorbent material. The resonant cavity is defined by metallized holes extending through the three plates. The holes are spaced no more than 1/4 wavelength apart and can extend along the length of the stripline to form an opening of the resonant cavity. The structure of the load allows its size to have the same height and width of the stripline.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method of implementation of surface-emission laser diodes with multiple quantum wells, including a single epitaxy step and a single step of implantation and diffusion of doping impurities. The transverse dimensions of the laser are determined by application of a mask on the active region before the implantation of said doping impurities around said active region, thus avoiding the conventional step of chemical etching with its detrimental effects on the expected lifetime of the finished laser. The construction of the laser of the invention allows to optimize separately the characteristics of optical confinement (along the axis of propagation of the laser light) and of confinement of the charge carriers in said active region (perpendicularly to said axis of propagation).
Abstract: This radar receiver, in particular for a radar having an antenna with beam forming through computation, comprises essentially means for matched filtering having a bandwidth B, means for amplitude and phase detection, and means for analog-to-digital conversion, and is such that said means for analog-to-digital conversion work on the intermediate-frequency signals, at a frequency much higher than said intermediate frequency. The receiver can be fully constructed in gallium arsenide technology.
Abstract: A digital telemetry device includes synchronous counters monitored by a clock. The counters are connected, on the one hand, to two comparators and, on the other hand, to a buffer memory. The comparators generate a telemetry mark which makes it possible to form a tracking window. The buffer memory stores or transmits the value of the counters whenever it receives an echo presence signal. The comparators work with most significant bits (MSB) to generate the telemetry mark, whilst the buffer memory works with least significant bits (LSB) which make it possible to determine the position of the target in relation to the center of the telemetry mark, for example by the use of a "complement-on-two" code.
Abstract: The method of the present invention is directed to information compression which allows for compatible decoding of a group of television signals with increasing resolutions. According to the present invention, a first step, at the transmitter, involves strobing the space frequency band of the signal to be transmitted which has the highest resolution into adjacent subbands. Then, the signal with the highest resolution to be transmitted is independently coded in each subband. The subbands are then multiplexed by separating the coded signals in each subband by means of non-imitable synchronizing patterns. At the receiving decoder, the signals received relative to each subband are decoded only taking into consideration those which are necessary in order to reconstitute at least one member of a resolution group. The present invention finds particular application in the transmission system for high-definition TV images.

Abstract: The invention concerns a process for assembly of two layers constituted of materials having different mechanical properties, and its application to hermetic enclosure of hybrid circuits. The process according to the invention to assemble a layer of a material M.sub.1 and a layer of a material M.sub.2 is characterized by the fact that it consists in interposing between the two layers an intermediate layer constituted of a mixture of the material M.sub.1 and the material M.sub.2. This mixture is preferably constituted of 25% to 75% by weight of the material M.sub.1 and 75% to 25% by weight of the material M.sub.2.The process according to the invention is particularly useful for the enclosure of integrated circuits and more particularly hybrid circuits, during the assembly of the metal can on the ceramic substrate bearing the circuit.
Abstract: In a method for the thermal conditioning of electronic equipment mounted on aircraft, a flow of ram air is tapped and transferred to first means enabling said flow of air to be given a first negative gradient of temperature after which, if necessary, the flow air coming from said first cooling means is transferred to second means capable of giving a second negative gradient of temperature to said flow of air, after which the flow of air coming directly from the first cooling means, combined as the case may be with the flow of air coming from the second cooling means, is transferred to the immediate vicinity of the electronic equipment to be cooled, thus achieving an appropriate thermal conditioning of said electronic equipment. The disclosure also relates to the systems designed for the implementation of this method.
Abstract: A self-check electronic system for infra-red observation includes a hood having a first port transparent to infra-red radiation and a second port which is reflected through infra-red radiation and the hood can be rotated so that the second port is perpendicular to an infra-red detector optical sighting line so that a self-checking operation determining whether the optical system is aligned may be performed.
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for making self-aligned metal contacts on semiconductor devices, with a submicronic spacing between regions controlled by the contacts. On a semiconductor body supporting at least one raised pattern, a double layer of SiO.sub.2 and Si.sub.3 N.sub.4 is deposited by an isotropic method. A double ionic etching of Si.sub.3 N.sub.4 by SF.sub.6 and of SiO.sub.2 by CHF.sub.3 is done to insulate the sidewalls on the flanks of the pattern. A sub-etching by HF/NH.sub.4 F/H.sub.2 O creates a cap beneath each sidewall. The metal contacts, deposited by evaporation, are self-aligned and separated by a space "d" equal to the thickness of the insulating layers.
