  • Patent number: 6034347
Abstract: A process and device for continuous butt-welding of metal sheets, in particular for car body building in the car industry, by beam welding. According to this device and process it is outlined that a precise abutting and welding of metal sheets is feasible without a precise alignment of metal sheets to be welded and laid on transport paths. This is accomplished by a special control of metal sheets to be welded together and by seam position sensors.

  • Patent number: 5889340
Abstract: The invention concerns an elongate stator for a linear motor with grooves and elastically deformable electrical leads which are secured therein. The groove walls are open towards the exterior by means of slots which, at their narrowest point, are narrower than the outer diameter of the leads. Owing to their elastic deformability, the leads can be pushed through the slots into the grooves and secured therein.

  • Patent number: 5764050
Abstract: In a method for measuring a distance between a conducting reaction track and a functional surface moving relative to the reaction track a sensor with two signal transmitters is provided on the functional surface. An alternating field is generated in the sensor. The alternating field changes as a function of the distance between the conducting reaction track and the functional surface. Each of the two signal transmitters detects the changes of the alternating field as distance information. Each signal transmitter produces decoupled distance information values. These decoupled distance information values are processed in separate distance measuring channels to provide processed signals. The processed signals are constantly fed to and compared in a comparator. A distance information signal is emitted only when the processed signals of the separate distance measuring channels are identical within a predetermined tolerance range.

  • Patent number: 5647262
Abstract: A cutting device for cutting scrap metal has a support frame with slide guides connected thereto. A blade slide is vertically slidable in the slide guides along a travel path. A first blade is connected to the blade slide, and a second blade is fixedly connected to the support frame and cooperates with the first blade to perform the shearing action. Elastic elements cooperate with the blade slide such that the blade slide is movable essentially perpendicular to a plane of the shearing action against the bias of the elastic elements to thereby form a wider gap between the first and the second blades.
