  • Patent number: 4852523
Abstract: An atmospheric gas boiler has two vertically arranged end pieces and at least one middle piece arranged between them, as well as burner lances disposed in the lower part of the gas boiler. The pieces of the boiler through which hot water flows define a furnace, with secondary heating surfaces adjoining thereto. In order to lower the quantity of NOX arising during the combustion, the middle piece has a tongue through which hot water flows, extending into the furnace. • Patent number: 4830294
Abstract: A cap to cover all sides of the end of a supporting body of a hammer mill rotor. The cap has two side walls, each end of which is provided with an approximately rectangular opening. In the direction of rotation of the rotor, the cap has a forward transverse wall and a rear transverse wall, each of which is provided with openings for a securing element or a plug. Each transverse wall also has a planar, inwardly directed surface, with these surfaces being directed approximately toward the center of the rotor and forming equal acute angles symmetrically relative to a plane that extends through the hammer shaft and an axis of rotation of the rotor. The inwardly directed surface of the forward transverse wall rests upon a forward end face of the supporting body. A filler member having a rectangular cross-sectional shape fills the gap between the rear inwardly directed surface and a planar rear abutment surface of the supporting body.

  • Patent number: 4813620
Abstract: A sorting apparatus for the material outlet of a machine for breaking-up scrap. The machine has a horizontally disposed hammer breaker rotor that is disposed in a housing, the bottom of which is trough-shaped. A material inlet that extends to the rotor and includes an anvil is produced at the downwardly rotating side of the rotor. An impact or deflection chamber having an outlet opening is disposed above the rotor. The housing has a curved inner surface portion in the bottom trough, and a further inner surface that adjoins the curved inner surface portion and is on the upwardly rotating side of the rotor. The further inner surface is provided with ribs that are disposed parallel to the direction of movement of broken-up scrap. The open distance between adjacent ribs is approximately equal to the greatest desired diameter of broken-up and compressed scrap pieces. Channels are formed between adjacent ribs for respective streams of broken-up scrap.

  • Patent number: 4812757
Abstract: In magnetic bearings and magnetic suspension devices, sensors (4), as they are used for bearing regulation of support and guide magnets in magnetic transportation technology, continuously measure the distance of a magnet (6) from a reaction rail (7), in order to obtain a signal with which the magnet (6) is controlled with regard to the energizing current in such a way that it remains suspended at the predetermined distance. In known devices, there is no accurate monitoring of the sensor signal, which can result in faulty regulation of the excitation if the sensor signal is faulty, which represents a significant safety risk.

  • Patent number: 4790248
Abstract: A dual coupling (1) comprises two elastic and articulated couplings (2 and 2a) interconnected by a hollow, intermediate shaft (3). Each one of the couplings (2,2a) contain an outer half (4,4a) with a hub (5,5a) from which extend several arms (6). Between them sit more arms (6a) of the intermediate shaft (3). With its arms (6a), the intermediate shaft represents the inner halves of the couplings (2,2a). The ends of the interacting arms (6 and 6a) are interconnected by rubber-elastic connecting rods (7) so that two rows (8) of arms are provided on bolts (10) to the left and right of the arms (6 and 6a) forming a joint plane. Therefore, two joint planes are present. While the connecting rods are connected to the bolts (10) in form closing fashion, the bolts are fixed or articulated in the arms (6 and 6a). One hub ( 5) is connected to a solid axle (15) and the other hub (5a) to a hollow shaft (18).

  • Patent number: 4698895
Abstract: The feature characterizing the method is that in an operation following the finishing of the track supporting structure, the mounting bodies are machined in a way such as to correct the structural inaccuracies caused by manufacturing tolerances of the prior art steel and concrete construction, to obtain an accurate mutual position of the equipment parts at the location of attachment. For this purpose, preferably, the mounting bodies are provided at the securing locations with bores and countersinks which are accurate in all the coordinates and correspond to the bolts or bores of the equipment parts, to finally mount these parts by means of bolts and spacer bushings. The bores and countersinks are formed by computer controlled drilling machines in a workshop where the support structures are held at a position which they will ultimately have in the field.

  • Patent number: 4664037
Abstract: A double coupling comprising two flexible couplings are connected to each other through an intermediate hollow shaft and have outer parts on each and each with a hub and radially extending arms between which rubber blocks shaped as ring segments are inserted in a prestressed state. The rubber blocks each comprise a central, radially inwardly narrowing wedge to which two rubber members carrying plates on their free surfaces are symmetrically vulcanized on either side. The wedges are connected to corresponding claws of the intermediate shaft. The wedge and claws, along with the intermediate shaft serves as a common hub portion and form an inner part of the flexible coupling. One hub is secured to a solid shaft and the other hub is secured to a hollow shaft. The solid shaft extends through the hollow shaft and they move relative to each other, even in misaligned positions. As compared to similar prior art couplings for transmitting comparable power, the weight of such a doubling coupling is reduced.

  • Patent number: 4636666
Abstract: An excitation arrangement for a long stator drive, particularly a synchronous long stator drive for rapid transit systems having combined generation of propelling and carrying forces comprises at least one heteropolar magnet which has a plurality of channels extending at right angles to the long stator direction and which are open at their pole plane lying opposite the long stator and in which magnetic coils assigned to the conductors are disposed. In order to improve the dynamic properties of the magnet, a subdivision of the magnetic coils generating the magnetic field is provided. Differing electrical behavior for slow and fast changes in the voltage driving the coil current is achieved by a tight coupling of one of the sub-coils to a short-circuit coil. Given slow changes in the drive voltage, a magnetic force resulting from the entire coil flux occurs. Given fast changes in the drive voltage, a dynamic reduction of the effective coil inductance leads to a fast current and magnetic force changes.
