Publication number: 20130263667Abstract: Pipeline wall thickness is measured as a function of position using ultrasound propagation. A series of predictive models is used, which define predictions of the ultrasound response signals as a function of different sets of parameters. The different sets that are determine of position dependent ultrasound speed at different sound frequencies and different spatial resolution. Successive iterative fitting process are executed, each fitting a combination of values of a successive set of parameters to the detected ultrasound response signals according to a respective model, using the values fitted values from the previous fitting process to initialize the next set of parameters for iterative fitting.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 7, 2011Publication date: October 10, 2013Applicant: Nederlandse Organisatie voor toegepastnatuuwetenschappelijk onderzoek TNOInventors: Arno Willem Frederik Volker, Joost Gerardus Petrus Bloom

Publication number: 20130265910Abstract: The invention relates to a method for configuring a device in a local area network using a gateway. The gateway is being communicatively coupled to a remote management server outside the local area network. The local area network comprises a protected portion and an unprotected portion. The method comprises the following actions: First a connection request is received from a user device. The user device is provided with an address that enables the user device to establish a connection with the gateway within the unprotected portion of the local area network. Then a configuration request is received from the user device, in which the configuration request includes device information. Network information is appended to the configuration request and the appended configuration request is sent to the remote management server. In response a configuration response message is received. The response message includes the configuration data from the remote management server.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 22, 2011Publication date: October 10, 2013Applicants: Nederlandse Organisatie voor Toegepast-Natuurwetenschappelijk Onderzoek TNO, Koninklijke KPN N.V.Inventors: Bernardus Hillen, Igor Passchier

Publication number: 20130268665Abstract: One aspect of the disclosure relates to a method for handling a service request from a requesting entity in a telecommunications network. A first service request for a particular service is received from the requesting entity. A sequence identifier is assigned to the requesting entity from which the first service request is received. The first service request is rejected by sending a reject message to the requesting entity and the assigned sequence identifier is also communicated to the requesting entity. At some later time, the sequence identifier is transmitted (e.g. broadcasted) in the telecommunications network in order. A second service request for the particular service is then received from the requesting entity and the serving entity now allows the request for the service.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 21, 2011Publication date: October 10, 2013Applicants: Nederlandse Organisatie voor Toegepast- Natuurwetenschappelijk Onderzoek TNO, KONINKLIJKE KPN N.V.Inventors: Annemieke Kips, Johannes Maria Van Loon

Patent number: 8554715Abstract: The apparatus computes classification scores based on parameters that have been determined from documents. Each score is compared with a first and second threshold. Definite classifications are assigned when the score is above the highest threshold or below the lowest threshold and the documents are processed accordingly. If the score is between the thresholds the document is singled out for further inspection, for example by a human arbitrator, to assign a class. The first and second threshold are adapted automatically based on specified a minimum accuracy level for the classification and a training set. The apparatus uses this specified accuracy in a search for a combination of threshold values that optimizes classifier yield, in terms of a maximized fraction of patterns in a training set that need not be turned over for further inspection without definite classification.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2009Date of Patent: October 8, 2013Assignee: Nederlandse Organisatie voor toegepast-natuurwetenschappelijk onderzoek TNOInventors: Wessel Kraaij, Stephan Alexander Raaijmakers
