Abstract: A method for producing a polycrystalline silicon processed article includes removing a polycrystalline silicon rod, obtained by precipitating polycrystalline silicon on a silicon core wire held by a carbon member connected to an electrode in a reactor by the Siemens method, in a state in which the carbon member is included at the end portion thereof and processing the polycrystalline silicon rod. The polycrystalline silicon rod is detached from the electrode and the carbon member present on the end portion of the polycrystalline silicon rod is covered using a covering material until the processing, whereby the polycrystalline silicon rod and the carbon member are handled in a separated state.

Abstract: A package in which a bag formed from a polyethylene-based resin film having a small thickness, more specifically a thickness of 300 ?m or less is filled with crushed polysilicon (Si chunks) and damage to the bag by the Si chunks is effectively prevented. In a polysilicon package in which the bag 1 formed from a polyethylene-based resin having an average thickness of 300 ?m or less is filled with the Si chunks 4, the bag 1 has a heat-sealed bonded part 2 at the bottom and is filled with the Si chunks 4 to ensure that the maximum expansion of the bag 1 becomes 5% or less when the bag 1 is held in an upright state with the bottom as a ground contact surface.
Abstract: An aluminum nitride powder containing a very small amount of coarse particles. An aluminum nitride powder which provides a resin composition having high affinity for resins and high moisture resistance. The aluminum nitride powder has a volume average particle diameter D50 of 0.5 to 7.0 ?m in particle size distribution measured with a laser diffraction scattering particle size distribution meter, a D90/D50 ratio of 1.3 to 3.5 and a BET specific surface area of 0.4 to 6.0 m2/g and classified by removing coarse particles whose particle diameter is more than 5 times as large as D90. When resin paste obtained from this aluminum nitride powder and a resin is measured with a grind gauge, the upper limit particle diameter at which a streak is produced is not more than 5 times as large as D90.
Abstract: Provided is an analysis method capable of qualitatively determining resins adhering to crushed polysilicon with high sensitivity and further capable of quantitatively determining the resins with high precision. The analysis method comprises removing organic volatile components from crushed polysilicon by heating, then raising a temperature of the crushed polysilicon in a stream of an inert gas, collecting resin decomposition products produced at the heating temperature, and analyzing decomposition products unique to the resins, to thereby identify the types of the resins adhering to the crushed polysilicon. Moreover, it is also possible to prepare a standard curve regarding each of the decomposition products unique to the resins and to determine an adhesion quantity of each of the adhering resins based on the standard curve.

Each of the aluminum nitride crystal particles has a flat octahedral shape in a direction where hexagonal faces are opposed to each other, which is composed of two opposed hexagonal faces and 6 rectangular faces, in which the average distance “D” between two opposed corners of each of the hexagonal faces is 3 to 110 ?m, the length “L” of the short side of each of the rectangular faces is 2 to 45 ?m, and L/D is 0.05 to 0.8; each of the hexagonal faces and each of the rectangular faces cross each other to form a curve without forming a single ridge; and the true destiny is 3.20 to 3.26 g/cm3.

Abstract: The present invention provides an optical composition from which an optical article having reduced poor appearance such as cloudiness and optical strain during lens base material production can be obtained, and when a photochromic compound is added, a photochromic cured body having excellent photochromism and mechanical strength can also be formed, and a polyrotaxane used therefor. The polyrotaxane has a composite molecular structure formed of an axle molecule and a plurality of cyclic molecules clathrating the axle molecule, satisfying at least one of (X) and (Y). (X): A side chain having a secondary or tertiary hydroxyl group is introduced into at least part of the cyclic molecule of the polyrotaxane. (Y): A side chain having a group represented by -A (A is an organic group, and contains at least one hydroxyl group) is introduced into at least part of the cyclic molecule of the polyrotaxane, and a pKa of the hydroxyl group of the compound represented by H-A is 6 or more and less than 14.
Abstract: To provide a hexagonal boron nitride powder which contains agglomerates, has a maximum torque calculated by measuring in accordance with JIS-K-6217-4 of 0.20 to 0.50 Nm, a DBP absorption rate of 50 to 100 ml/100 g, a tap bulk density of 0.66 to 0.95 g/cm3 and reduced anisotropy of heat conduction and can provide high heat conductivity and dielectric strength to a resin composition produced by filling a resin therewith and a process for producing the powder by carrying out a reduction nitriding reaction using boron carbide.
Abstract: There is provided a state-monitory system of a moving apparatus which is capable of deducing an abnormality and cause of breakdown of the moving apparatus by Equationematical analysis only by measuring vibration of a casing or object to be monitored and which requires no large-scaled apparatus. An equivalent model of the moving apparatus 1 is formed, which is adapted to replace the vibration of a monitored object of the moving apparatus 1 with the vibration of a viscoelastic member such as an elastic spring etc. and which is adapted to be capable of outputting virtual vibration data having synthesized vibration equivalent to the vibration of the viscoelastic member, and the equivalent model is Equationematically analyzed, thereby estimating the abnormality and cause of breakdown of the moving apparatus 1 only by measuring vibration of the casing 8 or a monitored object.

Abstract: A single crystal silicon plate-shaped body as cut out from an upper portion of a straight body portion of a CZ method single crystal silicon ingot has an interstitial oxygen concentration in a crystal is 25 ppma to 45 ppma and a substitutional carbon concentration is 0.5 ppma or less in a radial center. In the radial center, oxygen precipitates are not observed in a bulk in an image of 200,000 times by a transmission electron microscope, and after heating the single crystal silicon plate-shaped body at 950° C. for 60 minutes, oxygen precipitates are observed in an image of the 200,000 times, and a shape of the oxygen precipitates is observed in a polyhedral structure in an image of 2,000,000 times.
