Abstract: A method is disclosed for providing information using a navigation apparatus to guide a user in a vehicle along a determined route to a destination through a road network. The method comprises generating data indicative of a navigation map for display on a display device of a navigation apparatus showing the roads in a portion of the road network. The method further comprises generating data indicative of a first route line for display on the navigation map showing the one or more roads to be taken from a current position of the navigation apparatus to follow the determined route through the road network, and then providing the data indicative of the navigation map and the first route line to the display device for display thereon.

Abstract: A method of analyzing traffic by a system includes receiving sequential location measurements from users of the system, mapping the received sequential location measurements to a digital map and determining traffic information for a first time period based on mapped sequential location measurements corresponding to the first time period. A system may include a database configured to store sequential location measurements received from users of the system and a processor configured to extract sequential location measurements from the database and determine traffic information for a first period based on the extracted sequential location measurements. The sequential location measurements include periodic times and associated coordinates.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for determining a route taken by a user at a decision point in a navigable network in an area covered by an electronic map. The map comprises a plurality of segments representing navigable segments of the navigable network in the area covered by the electronic map. A user is travelling along a main route from an origin to a destination. An upcoming decision point is identified, and one or more alternative routes between the decision point and the destination generated. Data indicative of each route is stored in a route pool, associated with data indicative of the outgoing segment at the decision point that forms part of the route. Each route passes along a different outgoing segment, and which segments are all different to an outgoing segment included in a continuation of the main route. When the user has passed through the decision point, it is determined whether the current position of the user lies on the outgoing segment forming the continuation of the main route.

Abstract: A communications apparatus includes a processing resource arranged to support, when in use, a main application and a user interface. The apparatus, in at least one embodiment, also includes a data store and a user interface host entity arranged to access, when in use, a user interface template selectable in response to a received message. The user interface template includes an expression of a number of user interface elements. The user interface is arranged to translate the user interface template selected from the expression of the number of user interface elements into a user interface instantiation.
Abstract: A strap (2) for a watch (1) comprising: a first fastening portion (4); a watch supporting portion (6); and a second fastening portion (8). The first and second fastening portions comprise a series of holes (22, 24) spaced along each fastening portion. The first fastening portion further comprises an opening (10) through which the second fastening portion can be threaded and at least one pin (12) projecting inwards from the strap so as to be received in a hole in the second fastening portion. The second fastening portion further comprises at least one pin (14) projecting inwards from the strap so as to be received in a hole in the first fastening portion when the second fastening portion is threaded through the opening and laid on top of the first fastening portion. The first fastening portion further comprises at least one peg (18) projecting outwards from the strap so as to engage in a hole in the second fastening portion.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method of providing hazard information by an electronic device, comprising determining: determining a location of an electronic device in relation to hazards in a geographic region of interest, the location of the electronic device being determined by a location determining unit of the electronic device and the location of the hazards being determined from map data accessible to the electronic device; displaying, in a first display mode on a display of the electronic device, an indication of the hazards in the geographic region of interest in relation to a scale indicative of a distance from the location of the electronic device; and displaying, in response to a predetermined user input, in a second display mode on the display, an indication of one or more of the hazards in a portion of the geographic region of interest, each indication being associated with at least one item of distance information indicative of a distance of the hazard from the location of the
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed related to the processing of video and sensor data recorded by a video camera. For example, a first embodiment is directed to the storage of sensor data in a metadata portion of a digital media file, a second embodiment is directed to the storage of highlight data in a metadata portion of a digital media file, and a third embodiment is directed to the creation of highlight data based on sensor data.

Abstract: A method and system for generating a route through a navigable network in a geographic area is disclosed, the navigable network being represented by an electronic map comprising a plurality of segments each having a traversal direction associated therewith. An area is defined around a location represented by the electronic map, and at least some of the outgoing segments from the area are determined. A first optimum cost route from an origin is determined to each of the determined outgoing segments, and these routes are ranked according to their cost. At least one of the first optimum cost routes is selected based on the ranking, and a second optimum cost route is determined from the outgoing segment from the area of the selected route to a destination. The generated route from the origin to the destination comprises the selected first optimum cost route and the second optimum cost route.
