Abstract: The present invention relates to a catalytic component for the polymerization of olefins combining a number of catalytic components for the polymerization of olefins and to a process for preparing it. The catalytic component according to the invention is obtained by impregnation of a prepolymer with a solution of a catalytic component for the polymerization of olefins. The invention brings about control of the combination of different catalytic components and provides for improvement in the control of the quality of the polymers manufactured by virtue of the catalytic action of the combined catalytic components. Another advantage of the invention is to be able to control the morphology and the particle size distribution of the polymers by choosing the morphology of a single catalytic component. The prepolymer and the polymer obtained from the catalytic component according to the invention are also subjects of the present invention.
Abstract: A method and device for introducing a liquid-vapor mixture into a radial feed cylindrical fractionating column (1). The method includes separating the liquid-vapor mixture into two opposite and horizontal flows (6, 7), and directing the flows toward the lower part (4) of the column (1) to reduce the entrainments of liquid toward the upper part (5) of the column. The device includes elements (9a, 9b) for separating the liquid-vapor mixture into two opposite and horizontal flows and elements for directing the flows toward the lower section of the column. The elements cooperate to reduce the entrainment of liquid toward the upper section of the column. The method and device can be applied in the oil industry, namely in crude oil refineries as well as in chemistry and petrochemistry.
Abstract: Providing data as part of a testing regime for computer software. Random data values can be automatically generated to support the testing of any type of computer software that operates on data as part of its function. This random generation of data values can provide a breadth of data needed to fully stress the software program being tested. Data of any type can be provided to a testing regime and individual data elements may be related such that the provided data reflects realistic situations. Data can be extracted from data tables and/or generated through operating a function designed to generate a specific value type.
Abstract: The aim of the present invention is the determination of the best possible correlation (keying) for electric recordings obtained in a borehole with seismic recordings obtained in a volume of subsoil (the seismic block) containing the bore. This is accomplished by defining in a neighborhood of the trajectory of the bore a set of layered networks, the entries of which are the seismic signals and the exits of which are electric signals. Accordingly, a quality measure is awarded with regard to the convergence. The best convergence quality then permits the determination of the best place in the neighborhood which produces the best keying.

Abstract: Disclosed is a simulated moving bed (SMB) adsorptive separation system in which at least one component of a fluid mixture is brought into contact with a solid adsorbent and the adsorbed component is desorbed with a desorbent, wherein the improvement comprises an inert ball layer is formed on the upper part of the solid absorbent filled in the simulated moving bed.
Abstract: A method for the retrieval of an object from a well (16) with a tool (30) is described, in which the object, by lowering of the tool (30), is directed into a lower inlet section (40) to a hollow holding area (46) in the tool (30). The method is characterized in that a tool (30) is applied which comprises an inlet section (40) with a barbed section (56), which lets the object pass into the holding area (46), but which prevents the object (22) from being led out of the holding area. A tool that can be used to carry out the method is also described, as well as an application.

Abstract: An improved electrical pump is first provided for use in a wellbore. The pump comprises a stator and a stator housing, and an armature and an armature housing. The stator housing and the armature housing define concentrically nested tubular bodies. The armature housing is configured to permit production fluids to flow therethrough. In one aspect, the stator and armature are assembled in connectible and interchangeable sections called “modules” that can be attached in series. In one aspect, the electrical operation of coils within the stator is protected from individual coil short-circuiting or failure by wiring them in parallel, rather than in series. In addition, each module may be wired in parallel. In this way, a failure of one stator module will not result in the failure of another stator module. In an embodiment of the present invention, the valves of the pump are capable of being retrieved by a wireline, without pulling the entire production string.
