    Abstract: A seat back reclining mechanism including a stationary bracket secured to the seat bottom and a movable bracket secured to the seat back, the stationary and movable brackets being connected together for pivotable movement about a pivot axis. The movable bracket is formed with a series of indentations formed along an arc having a center on the pivot axis. The stationary bracket has a first and second locking lever respectively carrying a first and second locking pins which alternately engage selected ones of the indentations. Each of the locking levers is so oriented that when the locking pin on the lever is engaged with the indentation, the lever is directed substantially tangentially with respect to the arc along which said indentations are formed.

    Abstract: A steering lock assembly for use in an automobile comprises a cylinder lock for controlling an ignition switch assembly with a mating key inserted in the cylinder lock and a steering shaft lock operatively associated with the cylinder lock for selectively locking and unlocking an automobile steering shaft. The cylinder lock comprises a key-operated barrel and the steering shaft lock comprises a locking member. A retaining mechanism is also provided for temporarily holding the locking member in an unlocked position unless the key inserted in the barrel is withdrawn and comprises a locking link. This locking link is operatively accommodated in an elongated chamber in a lock housing and can be held in position inside the elongated chamber by inserting it in an axial direction of the barrel.

    Abstract: An air-fuel ratio control system for an automobile engine including a source of combustible air-fuel mixture on an intake passage and an exhaust gas purifying unit on an exhaust passage includes a composition sensor for generating an output signal indicative of the concentration of a particular component of exhaust gases flowing through the exhaust passage, a control unit for generating a control signal in dependence on the output signal, a pressure sensor for generating a pressure signal indicative of the pressure inside the intake passage, and an actuator operable in response to the control signal to adjust the air-fuel mixing ratio to a predetermined optimum value. The control unit is so designed to fix the duty ratio of the control signal at a mean value of the highest and lowest values of the duty ratio of the previous control signal if it has attained a generally identical value two or more times consecutively.
