  • Patent number: 6963182
Abstract: A motor control device includes an electric voltage command value calculation means for inputting an electric current command value every control cycle, calculating an electric current deviation integrated value by integrating an electric current deviation between the electric current command value and an actual electric current value at a coil of a motor, and calculating an electric voltage command value in accordance with the electric current deviation integrated value. The electric voltage command value calculation means controls the electric current deviation integrated value not to exceed a saturation electric voltage value, a value according to the maximum value of the electric voltage outputted from the inverter circuit to the motor.

Abstract: A motor-current square value calculation section 45 calculates, as a motor-current square value, the sum of respective square values of two phase currents converted from three phase currents flowing through an electric motor. A temperature estimation calculation section 44 performs low-pass filtering for the motor-current square value, and calculates temperature increases of the mass portion and coils on the basis of the filtered motor-current square value. In the low-pass filtering, filtering calculation is performed in a manner which changes depending on rotational speed RV of the electric motor; i.e., whether the electric motor is in a rotating state or in a stopped state. The temperature increase of the mass portion is added to ambient temperature of the electric motor to thereby estimate temperature of the mass portion, and the temperature increase of the coils is added to the estimated temperature of the mass portion to thereby estimate temperature of the coils.

  • Publication number: 20050236221
Abstract: A steering angle ?t detected by the torque sensor is read at S900. Then, an electrical angle ?m corresponding to a motor rotational angle is read at S902. At S908 through S922, motor rotational numbers are calculated based on ?t, ?m and the rotational number of a handle, and a correct rotational number of the handle is calculated from the motor rotational number which is the nearest to an integer of all of the calculated motor rotational numbers. Thereafter, an absolute steering angle which is not influenced by various errors is calculated based on the calculated rotational number of the handle and the steering angle ?t detected by the torque sensor.

  • Patent number: 6957713
Abstract: In a steering angle detection device for an electric power steering apparatus, a steering wheel shaft rotation angle is derived by calculating a rotation angle signal which corresponds to a rotation angle of a steering wheel shaft within a single rotation, based upon detection signals of first and second resolvers which detect the rotation angle of the steering wheel shaft and which have different pole pair numbers. A third resolver detects, as a motor rotation angle, a rotation angle of an output shaft of an electric motor that imparts assistance force to an output member of a steering gear having a reduction ratio that varies in accordance with a steering angle of the steering wheel from a straight ahead position.

  • Patent number: 6958006
Abstract: In a cylindrical grinding machine, a lateral surrounding cover is mounted on a bed and surrounds and covers lateral surfaces of a machining area in which a work support drive device, a grinding wheel and a bearing unit therefor are arranged and a slide area in which a base portion of a wheel head and a slide mechanism for the wheel head are arranged. A top open/close cover is further provided on the top portion of the lateral surrounding cover and is movable between a first position to open the upsides of the machining area and the slide area and a second position to cover the upsides of the machining area and the slide area. Thus, only by moving the top open/close cover to the first position, it becomes possible for an operator to look over the whole part of the machining area and the slide area. Since plural components of the grinding machine can be checked simultaneously with the top open/close cover opened, the time taken for maintenance or service work on the grinding machine can be shortened.

  • Publication number: 20050230180
Abstract: The invention provides an electric power steering apparatus in which a dead zone is not generated even at a low duty ratio while slow starting a switching element. When a duty ratio of a PWM control becomes more than a preset value (NO in S14), a switching cycle is set to a predetermined value (a fixed value) (S20). When the duty ratio becomes equal to or less than the preset value (Yes in S14), the switching cycle is made longer than the predetermined value (S16). It is possible to securely apply a current to a motor and it is possible to prevent a dead zone from being generated, by elongating the switching cycle even in a low duty ratio while slow starting an FET and preventing a noise from being generated.

  • Publication number: 20050224277
Abstract: In a steering system 30, a transmission ratio R1 which is determined in dependence on the vehicle speed by reference to a transmission ratio decision map is multiplied with a first transmission ratio alteration gain g10 which is determined in dependence on the distribution of a traveling drive torque from an engine 11 to front wheels 14 and rear wheels 15, thereby to alter the ratio R1 of steering torque distribution from a steering handle 31 to the front wheels 14, whereby the variation of the steering feeling due to an increase or decrease in the distribution of the traveling drive torque to the front wheels 14 can be suppressed. Further, the transmission ratio R1 is multiplied with a second transmission ratio alteration gain g11 which is determined in dependence on the gradient of the road surface by reference to a second transmission ratio alteration map, thereby to alter the transmission ratio R1, whereby the variation of the steering feeling due to the variation of the gradient can also be suppressed.

Abstract: In accordance with a steering apparatus (20), a grip state between a ground surface on which a steered wheel is grounded and the steered wheel is estimated by a grip degree estimation arithmetically operating process (30a) which is arithmetically operated by AFS_ECU (30), and VGRS target angle is set such that a steering gear ratio is increased in the case that the grip degree gets close to a grip limit on the basis of an estimated grip state, in accordance with a grip degree vs gear ratio map (30b).
