As more than one connection is established between the storage device and the hosts at the same time, a first controller has both read and write accessibility to a first memory unit and a second controller has both read and write accessibility to a second memory unit, while the first controller has read-only accessibility to the second memory unit and the second controller has read-only accessibility to the second memory unit.
Abstract: A controlling method of a multimedia player device is disclosed. The multimedia player device is capable of playing plural multimedia files from plural memory cards. The controlling method comprising: when a memory card of the memory cards is connected to the multimedia player device, determining if there is a corresponding log file corresponding to the connected memory card; if the log file exists, creating a playlist comprising at least part of the plural multimedia files according to the log file; and, playing the multimedia files according to the playlist from the connected memory card.

Abstract: A method provides a more intuitive way of operating the playback of a video file of an event data recorder. By using GPS coordinates on a recorded video file, a route may be generated accordingly and displayed on a map. The GPS coordinates forming the route have exact mapping relation with the time line of the corresponding video file and direct operation of a slider is provided on the route of the map so that any corresponding frame of the video file may be displayed accordingly.
Abstract: After a file is stored in a storage device, the file is segmented into a first segment and a second segment, the latter of which is relocated to a removable security device only when the removable security device is connected to the storage device. After the removable security device is removed from the storage device, as long as the removable security device is kept by the owner of the file, the file cannot be accessible for someone other than the owner even if said someone takes the storage device. Security of the file is thus assured.
Abstract: An earphone system with temporary volume shifting function includes a speaker receiving audio signals and converting the received audio signals into sound, the speaker having a first end and a second end therein, a first resistor electrically connected to the first end of the speaker, and a switch configured between the first resistor and the speaker to control current flowing through the first resistor to the first end of the speaker. A first current flows through the speaker to output a first volume from the speaker when the switch is deactivated by a user who does not operate the switch, and a second current flows through the speaker to output a second volume from the speaker when the switch is activated by the user who operates the switch, and the second volume is greater than the first volume.
Abstract: A power strategy selector queries a lookup table using a current flash status of a flash drive, and determines a burst operating voltage for operating the flash drive. Therefore, precise buffering of parameters or data can be ensured when the flash drive meets an unexpected power failure or malfunctions, or precise operations of the flash drive can be guaranteed.
Abstract: A method of executing wear leveling in a flash memory device includes determining whether a current temperature is in a normal operating temperature range of the flash memory device, and reprogramming data associated with data blocks to another location in a flash memory array when the current temperature is in the normal operating temperature range of the flash memory device, wherein the data is programmed in a temperature out of the normal operating temperature range of the flash memory device.
Abstract: A charge/discharge circuit is configured to directly charge a storage system using a power source under a power-on stage and to charge the storage system using power pre-stored in a capacitor under a power-off stage. With the aid of the charge/discharge circuit, an access speed of the storage system is prevented from being slowed down by attaching the large capacitance of the capacitor, and data accuracy of the storage system is prevented from being affected by sudden loss of power supply of the power source.
