Abstract: Pipeline apparatus comprises a housing including a riser and a pipeline connector and a seal pack assembly mounted in a member that is mounted in the riser, the apparatus including a shaft extending through the seal pack assembly. The seal pack assembly includes at least one seal situated and configured to provide a seal between the outer surface of the shaft and a component of the seal pack assembly through which the shaft extends, that component being releasably attached to the member.
Abstract: A gas recycling system includes a series of removal units configured to receive a flow of contaminated lasing gas and output a flow of purified neon gas, the units include a set of filters that remove fouling elements from the flow of contaminated lasing gas; a first set of parallel trap modules that remove hydrogen from the flow of contaminated lasing gas; and a second set of parallel trap modules that remove xenon from said flow of contaminated lasing gas; and a storage vessel that receives said flow of purified neon gas from at least one of the plurality of removal units.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a luminaire employing at least one Light Emitting Diode (LED) device as the light source and a metal beverage container as the luminaire housing.

Abstract: A system and method for installing a decorative exterior on a standard signpost is disclosed. A first exterior shell is mounted on one side of the post, and a second exterior shell is mounted on the other. Discs halves are also provided which, when installed between the post and the shells, cause the shells to be securely fastened to the post. In another alternative system, a midsection of the post cover is installed as a tube that slides over two solid discs that are slid onto the post and supported by grommets.

Abstract: A coating and coating process to improve the efficiency of hydrocarbon fueled engines, wherein the coating includes a high percentage of nickel to create a reaction which improves the combustion efficiency of the hydrocarbon fuel. The coating may also include chromium, iron, and other constituents and is applied to combustion surfaces with a sufficient bonding strength to allow the coating to function in the combustion chamber, while providing a surface having sufficient surface roughness to promote the chemical reaction underlying the combustion efficiency improvement. The nickel causes a catalytic cracking reaction to ease the combustibility of hydrocarbon molecules in the fuel.

Abstract: An adapter for use in friction stir welding is configured to be mountable in and rotated by a standard milling machine. In one embodiment, the adapter includes an upper housing, a lower housing, and a mounting element for transmitting rotational movement from the milling machine. At least a portion of the mounting element is mounted in the upper housing. The adapter may also include a tool holder connected to the lower housing and rotated by the mounting element; and a displacement mechanism for providing movement of the tool holder relative to the mounting element. The displacement mechanism may be isolated from the rotational movement of the mounting element and the tool holder. The displacement mechanism of the adapter may also include at least one piston cylinder assembly. In one embodiment, the upper housing and the lower housing form a part of the piston cylinder assembly.

Abstract: A venous-arterial detector is disclosed. The detector includes a first chamber in fluid communication with a needle, and an indicator chamber in selective fluid communication with the first chamber through a valve. The indicator chamber is pre-pressurized to a defined pressure that preferably exceeds typical venous pressure, and the valve retains that pressure within the indicator chamber. When the needle is inserted into a vessel, if the pressure in the vessel is greater than the defined pressure in the indicator chamber, blood will flow into the indicator chamber, indicating that the vessel is most likely to be an artery.
