Patent number: 4326773Abstract: The invention concerns a cylindro-parabolic reflector for focusing solar rays on the focal axis of the cylinder. The reflector comprises modular elements which are assembled by means of tubes which are interengaged strictly in alignment with each other. The complementary male and female ends of the tubes have been formed by the tubes previously having been forcibly engaged into each other. This makes it possible to provide reflectors of substantially perfect parabolic shape, in spite of their substantial length. The invention will be used primarily in the construction of solar steam generating stations.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 1980Date of Patent: April 27, 1982Assignee: Cegedur Societe de Transformation de l'Aluminium PechineyInventor: Francois Colas

Patent number: 4297777Abstract: A method for the production of a composite hollow body formed of aluminum alloys and composed of two layers having differing structure. One layer of the hollow body is intended to operate in contact with a mobile surface and is produced by extruding a mixture of particles of a hypereutectic silicon alloy having fine grains and an addition product. The other layer is selected from among alloys having certain particular properties and has the structure of a cast and wrought product. The present method particularly consists of the step of joining the two layers by coextrusion on a mandrel in an inverse extrusion press. The composite hollow bodies so produced are used in the production of linings for internal combustion engines or for jacks.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 1980Date of Patent: November 3, 1981Assignee: Cegedur Societe de Transformation de l'Aluminium PechineyInventors: Jean-Claude Kucza, Albert Mastrot, Rene Perrot, Jean-Mary Wattier

Patent number: 4229636Abstract: A process for the spark erosion machining of a workpiece having a cylindrical orifice, formed of any desired cross-section, the invention utilizes an electrode which is moved relative to the workpiece. According to the invention, a first rapid rough shaping pass is performed by descent of the electrode parallel to the generatrices of the orifice. On raising, the electrode is then translated perpendicularly to the generatrices by a distance r and then is lowered at a slower speed and is raised again before performing a circular translation of radius r. The electrode is again lowered and raised, and the operation is repeated n times so as to perform a complete revolution. The present process allows efficient machining of dies for metal extrusion.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 1979Date of Patent: October 21, 1980Assignee: Cegedur Societe de Transformation de l'Aluminum PechineyInventor: Gerard Izari

Patent number: 4196021Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the thermal treatment of aluminum alloys containing zinc, magnesium and copper as main alloying elements, and the products manufactured by this process and having an average particle diameter of Al-Mg-Cr phase of between 800 A and 1000 A. This process involves carrying out a treatment at high temperature for a sufficiently short period to prevent coalescense into particles which are too large. This treatment is preferably carried out at the homogenization stage for thin products and at the final dissolution stage for thick products. The invention is applied, in particular, to the manufacture of thin or thick sheets for the aeronautical industry.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 1978Date of Patent: April 1, 1980Assignee: Cegedur Societe de Transformation de l'Aluminium PechineyInventors: Jean Bouvaist, Daniel Ferton

Patent number: 4189334Abstract: A process for the thermal treatment of thin products made of 7000 series aluminum alloys comprising a solution heat treatment, quenching treatment and a tempering treatment in three stages:pretempering between 100.degree. and 150.degree. C. for 5 minutes to 24 hours;intermediate tempering; and, final tempering between 100.degree. and 160.degree. C. for 2 to 48 hours.Intermediate tempering comprises a rapid rise in temperature to 190.degree. C. followed by a treatment at a temperature .theta.(t) between 190.degree. and 250.degree. C. for a total duration T in such a way that the function: ##EQU1## is comprised between 0.5 and 1.5; and T and t being expressed in seconds and .theta.(t) in .degree.K.This tempering treatment imparts to the products treated both high mechanical characteristics and a high resistance to stress corrosion.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 1978Date of Patent: February 19, 1980Assignee: Cegedur Societe de Transformation de l'Aluminium PechineyInventors: Bruno Dubost, Jean Bouvaist

Patent number: 4019342Abstract: A compressor for a refrigerant gas wherein a rotor acts on a rocking plate to effect rocking thereof and reciprocation of pistons in cylinder bores to produce suction and exhaust strokes for refrigerant gas. A lubricant is contained in a sump in the compressor casing and it is atomized and mixed with refrigerant gas which leaks past the pistons. A duct is formed in the casing for conveying the mixture of refrigerant gas and lubricant from the casing under the action of the suction stroke of the pistons. The mixture is delivered at the inlet for refrigerant gas and the total mixture now flows to a separator where the lubricant is separated from the refrigerant gas. The refrigerant gas is then supplied into the cylinder bores during the suction stroke and the lubricant is delivered into a reservoir where it is forceably delivered back into the casing to the sump.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 1976Date of Patent: April 26, 1977Assignee: Cegedur Societe de Transformation de l'Aluminium PechineyInventor: Motomu Ohta

Patent number: 4002157Abstract: This heating apparatus includes an air flow chamber having outer and inner, generally cylindrical and parallel walls within which a combustion chamber is nested. The combustion chamber includes means for burning a fuel and has outer and inner parallel, generally cylindrical heat conducting walls. It is coupled to an exhaust duct which has at least a portion thereof surrounded by the inner wall of the air flow chamber. In one form air is driven by an electric fan through the air flow chamber around the combustion chamber and out to a distribution duct. The fan also blows air into the combustion chamber for combustion of the fuel. In another form, a fan is driven by th combustion exhaust gases thereby propelling air through the air flow chamber and into the combustion chamber via a compressor wheel. Other forms include heat-conductive members placed into contact with the exhaust duct or with the air chamber to further heat the air before it enters the distribution duct.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 1974Date of Patent: January 11, 1977Assignee: Energy Transformation CorporationInventor: Rene A.
