Patent number: 4501315Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of controlling and regulating operational parameters of a machine for continuously casting bands between cylinders, allowing adhesion to be avoided. This method comprises considering as parameters the torque exerted on one or other of the cylinders for moving the band on and comprises permanently comparing the frequency of the variations in the torque measurement with a reference frequency. When the variation frequency is greater than the reference frequency, the casting speed of the machine is reduced and/or the lubricant flow rate is increased until the variation frequency is again lower than the reference frequency. The speed of the casting machine is then increased as long as the variation frequency remains below the reference frequency.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 1982Date of Patent: February 26, 1985Assignee: Cegedur Societe de Transformation de l'Aluminium PechineyInventor: Serge Bercovici

Patent number: 4497360Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the monitoring and control of operating parameters of a machine for the continuous casting of strips between rolls, including the torque exerted on at least one of the rolls to cause the strip to advance and/or the stress exerted by the strip on at least one of the journals and/or the temperature of the strip as it leaves the rolls and permanently measuring the deviation between the instantaneous value of one of these parameters and the mean value of this parameter over a period of time immediately beforehand. If this deviation exceeds a reference deviation, the casting speed of the machine is reduced until the deviation again becomes less than the reference deviation. The speed of the casting machine is then increased for as long as this deviation remains lower than the reference deviation.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 1981Date of Patent: February 5, 1985Assignee: Cegedur Societe de Transformation de l'Aluminiu, PechineyInventor: Serge Bercovici

Patent number: 4412633Abstract: A jug comprises a hollow body shaped to contain a liquid and having a bottom, a top wall, and opposite front and rear walls extending between the bottom and top wall and a collar formed in and projecting upwardly from the top wall adjacent the front wall and defining a pour mouth so that a closure can be engaged sealingly with the collar. The jug is provided with a tubular handle having a rear end opening into the body and connected to the top wall adjacent the rear wall and a front end connected to the top wall spacedly adjacent the collar. In addition structure is provided which is unitary with the handle and top wall and which forms a passage extending from the front end of the handle to the collar in the mouth. Thus, when the jug is forwardly tipped to pour liquid from the mouth, air can enter the body through the passage and tubular handle.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 1982Date of Patent: November 1, 1983Assignee: Seprosy Societe Europeenne pour la Transformation des Produits de SyntheseInventors: Vincent Guerrazzi, Valerio Vendramini

Patent number: 4297777Abstract: A method for the production of a composite hollow body formed of aluminum alloys and composed of two layers having differing structure. One layer of the hollow body is intended to operate in contact with a mobile surface and is produced by extruding a mixture of particles of a hypereutectic silicon alloy having fine grains and an addition product. The other layer is selected from among alloys having certain particular properties and has the structure of a cast and wrought product. The present method particularly consists of the step of joining the two layers by coextrusion on a mandrel in an inverse extrusion press. The composite hollow bodies so produced are used in the production of linings for internal combustion engines or for jacks.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 1980Date of Patent: November 3, 1981Assignee: Cegedur Societe de Transformation de l'Aluminium PechineyInventors: Jean-Claude Kucza, Albert Mastrot, Rene Perrot, Jean-Mary Wattier

Patent number: 4229636Abstract: A process for the spark erosion machining of a workpiece having a cylindrical orifice, formed of any desired cross-section, the invention utilizes an electrode which is moved relative to the workpiece. According to the invention, a first rapid rough shaping pass is performed by descent of the electrode parallel to the generatrices of the orifice. On raising, the electrode is then translated perpendicularly to the generatrices by a distance r and then is lowered at a slower speed and is raised again before performing a circular translation of radius r. The electrode is again lowered and raised, and the operation is repeated n times so as to perform a complete revolution. The present process allows efficient machining of dies for metal extrusion.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 1979Date of Patent: October 21, 1980Assignee: Cegedur Societe de Transformation de l'Aluminum PechineyInventor: Gerard Izari

Patent number: 4019342Abstract: A compressor for a refrigerant gas wherein a rotor acts on a rocking plate to effect rocking thereof and reciprocation of pistons in cylinder bores to produce suction and exhaust strokes for refrigerant gas. A lubricant is contained in a sump in the compressor casing and it is atomized and mixed with refrigerant gas which leaks past the pistons. A duct is formed in the casing for conveying the mixture of refrigerant gas and lubricant from the casing under the action of the suction stroke of the pistons. The mixture is delivered at the inlet for refrigerant gas and the total mixture now flows to a separator where the lubricant is separated from the refrigerant gas. The refrigerant gas is then supplied into the cylinder bores during the suction stroke and the lubricant is delivered into a reservoir where it is forceably delivered back into the casing to the sump.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 1976Date of Patent: April 26, 1977Assignee: Cegedur Societe de Transformation de l'Aluminium PechineyInventor: Motomu Ohta
