  • Patent number: 7406203
Abstract: An image processing method for facilitating data transmission is provided. An image compression method is performed to convert X-bits binary digital signals to a binary compressed data in a floating-point form of (1.n)*2m. Bit m represents the first bit with logic level “1” of the X-bits binary digital signals, and n represents the bits taken from the X-bits binary digital signals after the bit m. The binary compressed data in the floating-point form of (1.n)*2m is outputted with a sequence of binary number representing a set of (m, n). The latter n bits of the sequence of binary numbers are consisted of the n bits of the X-bits digital signal. Therefore, by the present image compression method, the transmission amount of image data is reduced. The transmission time of image data and the volume of a memory for storing the image data are also reduced.

Abstract: An image processing method for facilitating data transmission is provided. An image compression method is performed to convert X-bits binary digital signals to a binary compressed data in the form of n*2m, in which n is represented by the former Y bits of the X-bits binary digital signals, m is set to the value of (X-Y), and represented by binary numbers with [log2 (X-Y+1)] bits. The binary compressed data is transmitted with a sequence of [log2 (X-Y+1)]+Y bits, representing (m, n), wherein m is the former [log2 (X-Y+1)] bits and n is the latter Y bits. Therefore, by the present image compression method, the transmission amount of image data is reduced. • Patent number: 7385736
Abstract: A linear guiding mechanism for a platform type optical scanner. A V-shaped track is installed inside a casing and positioned parallel to the travel path of a carrier chassis containing a system of optical devices. The upper section of the V-shaped track has a pair of support surfaces forming an included angle. The V-shaped track supports a positioning wheel or a positioning bump attached to the carrier chassis. The carrier chassis moves along the longitudinal direction of the V-shaped track when driven by a driving system. The V-shaped track may be constructed from a pair of monorails so that the driving belt may move inside the space between the monorails. An additional positioning structure may attach to the interior sidewall of the casing to serve as a retainer for the chassis in an initial position.

  • Patent number: 7382504
Abstract: A shock-absorber structure is mounted in a scanning apparatus including a housing comprised of an upper case and a lower case, and a window transparent board clamped into the lower case. The shock-absorber structure is placed within a slot of the lower case where is clamped a side portion of the window transparent board, and comprises a plurality of resilient elements. The resilient elements are oppositely placed in abutment manner between an inner surface of the slot and the side portion of the window transparent board. The resilient elements respectively have different length so that a multi-stage shock absorption is achieved when the window transparent board successively presses on the resilient elements of different lengths. Collision damages are of the window transparent board thereby prevented.

  • Patent number: 7365885
Abstract: A method of providing the inputting units of the scanner with a foolproof function. Initially, while a specific inputting unit is activated, such as a push button being pushed, the connection between the operation of the scanner and other inputting units is terminated. This terminated connection is not regained until the specific action, which corresponds to the specific inputting unit, finishes. Moreover, an “activation” message can be directly displayed on the scanner while this specific inputting unit is activated, and while the scanner is processing some specific action, this action can be terminated with the function of the scanner and the connection between all inputting units regained as soon as this specific inputting unit is activated again. For any scanner with the foolproof function, while a specific inputting unit is activated, not only a corresponding specific action is performed but also the connection between the performing specific action and all inputting units is controlled.
