Abstract: A subject of the invention is a novel composition, particularly a pharmaceutical composition comprising cholest-4-en-3-one oxime and an oil chosen from sesame oil, olive oil, soya oil, cotton oil, or a mixture of commercial medium-chain triglycerides (ESTASAN®, MYGLIOL®), or a mixture of these oils, preferably sesame oil, olive oil or soya oil, even more preferably sesame oil.
Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of 3,5-seco-4-nor-cholestane derivatives for obtaining a cytoprotective drug, with the exception of a neuroprotective drug, notably a cardioprotective or hepatoprotective drug.

Abstract: The object of the invention is the use as a drug of a compound fitting formula I wherein X represents an oxygen atom or a ?N—OH group and R represents a group selected from or one of its esters and/or of its addition salts with pharmaceutically acceptable acids, particularly as a cytoprotective drug, preferentially a cardioprotective and/or neuroprotective drug, the compounds of formula I wherein R is R2, R3, R4, R5 or R6 as novel compounds as well as their preparation method and use.
Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of pharmacy, especially the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. The invention specifically relates to a family of chemical compounds for which a neuroprotective activity has been demonstrated. Given that certain members of said family are novel compounds which have never been described, the invention relates to said novel products, the synthesis method thereof and certain novel intermediate synthesis products. The present invention further relates to compositions comprising the compounds of said family, and the use of said compounds as medicaments, especially for the preparation of a medicament for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.

Abstract: The invention concerns methods and devices for observing or analysing samples on a support. More particularly, it concerns a device for sequential observation of several samples arranged on a common plate (19) comprising an objective (15) for observing a stage (17) for positioning the plate (19) adapted to ensure a relative displacement between the plate (19) and the observation axis in a plane perpendicular to the observation axis, while leaving free the vertical displacement along the observation axis, means (21) for illuminating the sample and means (23, 25) for acquiring an image at the objective (15) output.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for positioning a biological sample analysis plate on an observation device comprising an observation lens and a chassis having a plate support assembly [20]. This assembly comprises a first frame [21] and a second frame [22] able to slide in a plane perpendicular to the observation axis, assumed to be vertical, with the first and second frames each able to move in a direction perpendicular to the direction of movement of the other frame; and a third frame [23] supported by the second frame [22] by means [30] used to maintain said third frame in a plane perpendicular to the observation axis, while leaving the movement free in a vertical plane.
Abstract: The present invention relates to compositions and methods for screening and/or identifying compounds exhibiting biological activity on neurons. The invention also relates to the isolation and culture of neurons, methods of inducing pathological conditions to said isolated neurons, as well as kits for implementing said methods. The invention can be used in experimental research, drug discovery, drug development, and the like. More particularly, the invention can be used to identify and/or characterize and/or improve compounds which are active on neurons and can be used for treating disorders of the nervous system.
