Abstract: A deflector fitting for safety belts comprises a stirrup member which is provided with two parallel limbs. A pin is arranged between the two limbs. On this pin a roller is mounted by means of two bearings which are arranged at axial ends of the roller. The roller is provided with an increased wall thickness between the bearings. This increased wall thickness forms at least one support structure closely spaced from and surrounding the pin.
Abstract: A belt retractor for an occupant restraining system in vehicles is provided with a belt drum (12) rotatably mounted in a frame (10) and acted upon by a wind-up spring, a locking mechanism for the belt drum and able to be activated by the pivoting, caused in a manner responsive to the vehicle and/or the belt webbing, of at least one actuator pawl (20a; 24), and catch elements (32, 34; 50, 62) pivotally mounted on the belt drum (12) and able to rotate in relation it, said catch elements (32, 34; 50, 62) and the actuator pawl (20a; 24) being able to assume, by rotation of the belt drum (12) in the windup direction, a first position in relation to each other in which the catch elements (32, 34; 50, 62) engage the actuator pawl (20a; 24) and prevent pivoting thereof, and by rotation in the unwinding direction a second position, in which the catch elements (32, 34; 50, 62) clear the actuator pawl (20a; 24).
Abstract: In a restraining system with a safety belt and an inflatable restraining device the restraining force exerted by the belt on the occupant is limited by a force limiter to a level, which is adjustable and can be adapted to the body size and weight of the vehicle occupant. The adjustment of the force level is performed in such a manner that a characteristic of force versus forward displacement of the vehicle occupant in the event of a vehicle impact has a section of a falling tendency from a point at which contact between the belt webbing and the inflated restraining device is expected to occur.
Abstract: The invention relates to a cover for a gas bag of an occupant restraining system in vehicles and more especially to the attachment of such a cover on the instrument panel on the front passenger seat side of a motor vehicle. The cover is characterized in that on the side, which faces the instrument panel (12), of the covering plate (10) at least one tape-like lug (14) is formed, which is trained under a holding yoke (16) secured in the interior of the instrument panel and at its end (18) opposite to the covering plate is so widened that this end is unable to slip past the holding yoke.
Abstract: An adjuster device for a deflector fitting of a vehicular seat belt system comprises a first cable (28) connected to a longitudinally adjustable vehicle seat and guided to the circumference of a first pulley (26) and a second cable (18) connected to the deflector fitting and guided to the circumference of a second pulley (24). The pulleys (24, 26) are tensioned one against the other by a spiral spring (36) and coupled to rotate with respect to each other so that overloading of all and any of the components of the adjuster device is avoided.
Abstract: For a sensor for the vehicle-sensitive triggering of the locking mechanism of a safety belt retractor in the back of a vehicle seat, with a ball seat (17) which has a trough (16) for accepting a sensor ball (15), and a pivotally mounted sensor lever (20) resting on the sensor ball (15), the amount of space required for pivoting the sensor in order to maintain the orientation of the sensor irrespective of the inclination of the seat back is to be reduced, without the distance between the tip at the free end of the sensor lever and the circumference of the control disk changing while the sensor is being pivoted. To this end, the sensor (10) is characterised by the ball seat (17) being pivotally mounted around an axis running through the center (C) of the sensor ball (15).
Abstract: A method of translating a gas bag (5) for a vehicle occupant restraining system which when inflated is three-dimensional in shape, the one wall of which featuring an inflation port (20) may be spread out flat in the deflated condition, into a shape adapted to the interior space of a receiving compartment, is characterized by the wall being rolled up inwardly in its spread-out condition up to the inflation port (20), starting from its outer periphery.
Abstract: The pretensioner-proof buckle for safety belts has a latch (12) which is movably mounted in a load-bearing frame (10) between a release position and a fastening position and which in its fastening position acts on an insert tongue. A release button (14) is slidably mounted on the frame (10). Pressing of the button urges the latch (12) to its release position. A compensating mass forms one arm of a lever (16) pivotally mounted on the frame. The release button (14) has a pair of limit stops (14a, 14b) which are longitudinally spaced from each other. The lever (16) has a first lever arm (16c) the free end of which is located opposite the first limit stop (14a) of the release button, and a second lever arm (16d) the free end of which is located opposite the second limit stop (14b) of the release button.
