Patents Assigned to TT Technologies
  • Patent number: 6740279
Abstract: Compression molded pigmented door skins fabricated by compression molding a pigmented, curable, unsaturated polyester sheet molding compound containing a co-curable unsaturated monomer, a low profile additive, and a microvoid-reducing thermoplastic polymer, exhibit uniform stainability while maintaining a low linear thermal coefficient of expansion. Such door skins are suitable for preparing wood grain textured exterior insulated doors which exhibit minimal thermal deflection when exposed to interior/exterior temperature differentials, even at eight foot door heights. The doors may be stained without first applying a seal coat.

  • Publication number: 20030226328
Abstract: A door member comprising a frame having a first side and a second side, opposite the first side, a core positioned within the frame, and a molded skin attached to the first side of the frame. The skin is prepared from a molding compound which, when molded, has a shrinkage of between about −0.0003 to about +0.0015. The molding compound comprises a resin system comprising a curable polyester resin, a co-curable unsaturated monomer, and at least two low profile additives. The molding compound also comprises at least about 30 percent by weight, based on the weight of the molding compound, of filler material, and fibrous reinforcement in an amount of less than about 35 weight percent, based on the weight of the molding compound.

  • Patent number: 6589660
Abstract: Weatherable building materials particularly well suited for entry door skins and other exterior building components are prepared by compression molding lignocellulosic fibers digested under conditions such that partial breakdown of hemicellulosic and other components produces an in situ binder, together with a secondary phenol/formaldehyde binder resin, followed by impregnating the product with a non-fugitive tertiary binder.

  • Patent number: 6475615
Abstract: A stain/topcoat system for non-porous thermoset and/or thermoplastic articles comprises a pigmented stain, and a topcoat comprising one or more non-siloxane film-forming polymers, an emulsion of one or more curable organopolysiloxanes, a weatherability agent having a functional group that is reactive with carboxylate functional sites and water. The topcoat displays exceptional adhesion and weatherability to pigmented stained surfaces.

  • Patent number: 6443657
Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a method for replacing or lining existing underground pipe. The present invention replaces the pipe between two manholes without the need to dig associated trenches. A diagonal pilot hole is formed by a piercing tool. A guide cable is passed through the existing pipe and pilot hole and attached to a ramming tool operative in bringing new pipe through the pilot hole, and into the existing pipe. The ramming tool bursts the existing pipe into the surrounding soil and replaces the existing pipe with the new pipe.

  • Patent number: 6345477
Abstract: A door sill assembly is provided with an adjustable threshold. A sill assembly is made up of an elongated metal frame for installation on the floor of the doorway. The metal frame is provided with a tongue and sloping sill portion, a vertically extending rib and a shelf located below and integrally oriented relative to the rib. The threshold rail is supported on the frame member shelf portion upon two adjustable feet for varying the relative height level of the rail. A plastic threshold cap is sized to fit over the threshold rail and includes a pair of downwardly spaced ribs sized to securely fit over the vertical rib of the frame member to locate the threshold cap and rail relative to the frame member while providing limited vertical adjustment. Preferably, the interior trim molding is provided which is fixed relative to the frame member and oriented inboard of the threshold cap.
