    Abstract: An electrical connector includes a housing including a front housing and a rear housing matable to define the housing. The front housing and the rear housing are molded as a single piece with a hinge member connecting the front housing and the rear housing. The rear housing is rotatable about the hinge member from an open position to a closed position. The front housing has front terminal channels configured to receive terminals and the rear housing has rear terminal channels aligned with the front terminal channels when the rear housing is rotated to the closed position but not aligned with the front terminal channels when the rear housing is in the open position. The rear terminal channels are configured to allow the terminals to at least partially pass therethrough into the front terminal channels during loading of the terminals into the housing.

The connector position assurance device has a base portion, a first beam and a second beam. The first and second beams extend from the base portion. The base portion includes a latch engagement protrusion. A first beam has a first connector engagement protrusion and a second beam has a second connector engagement protrusion. The first and second connector engagement protrusions are resiliently actuated as the plug is mated to the header. The first and second connector engagement protrusions and the latch engagement protrusion cooperate with the plug when the plug is fully mated to the header to prevent the inadvertent removal of the plug from the header.

The signal conductors and ground conductors are held in the signal cavities and ground cavities, respectively, of the housing stack. The ground bracket is held in the housing stack between the front housing and the rear housing. The ejector mechanism has a slider latch movable in a longitudinal direction relative to the cartridge. The slider latch has a profiled groove configured to cam therein. The slider latch has a linear gear. The ejector mechanism includes a rotatable handle having a circular gear configured to engage the linear gear to cause the slider latch to move as the rotatable handle is rotated between a closed position and an open position. The profiled groove engages the cam to secure the connector module to the connector assembly when the rotatable handle is in the closed position and unlock the connector module when in the open position.

The dissipative coating has a resistivity of between 106 and 1014 ohm·cm, and the conductive-nano-carbons have an aspect ratio of at least 100. The process of producing a coated article includes blending a polymer powder with between 0.1 and 10%, by weight, conductive nano-carbons to form a micron-level homogenous compound, and extruding the compound onto a conductor to form a dissipative coating over the conductor.
