  • Patent number: 6592959
Abstract: An encoder made of rubber material in which the S-poles and the N-poles are alternately magnetized in circumference, whose magnetic force is strong and whose variation of the magnetic force is slight in the circumferential direction when it is magnetized. And a manufacturing method thereof. A ring shaped rubber compound made of unvulcanized rubber material into which magnetic powders are mixed and having thickness t1 of 1.5 times to 5 times thicker than the thickness t of the encoder made of rubber material as the final product is vulcanizingly molded. In this vulcanizingly molding process, the thickness of ring shaped rubber compound is reduced to one fifth (⅕) to two thirds (⅔) by compressing the ring shaped rubber compound in the axial direction under high temperature. And then, vulcanizingly molded one is magnetized S-poles and N-poles alternately in circumference.

  • Patent number: 6550782
Abstract: A cylinder head gasket adapted for being mounted on an internal combustion engine, and comprises an elastic metal sheet (1) having more than one combustion chamber opening and more than one passage hole, including a bead formed in the area surrounding the combustion chamber opening and a bead formed in the area surrounding the passage hole, wherein a sealing material is coated on the front or rear side, or both, of the elastic metal sheet (1). Specifically, the sealing material includes a thermally resistant sealing material (7, 17) and a water/oil resistant sealing material (8, 18), wherein the thermally resistant sealing material (7, 17) may be coated on the front or rear side, or both, of the bead (5) formed in the area surrounding the combustion chamber opening (2), and the water/oil resistant sealing material (8, 18) may be coated on the front or rear side, or both, of the bead (6) formed in the area surrounding the passage hole (3).

  • Patent number: 6329814
Abstract: A tone wheel includes a cylindrical elastic multipole magnet formed by a cylindrical elastic inner lining element and a metallic ring in which the cylindrical elastic inner lining element is shaped into a cylindrical form from a composite material including a mixture composed of any suitable elastic material and any suitable powdery ferromagnetic material, and is disposed inside the metallic ring in such a way that its inner circumferential surface is inclined at a predetermined angle of inclination “&thgr;” with regard to the center axis through the cylindrical elastic inner lining element. A magnetizing yoke is further included, wherein the yoke has its outer circumferential wall formed to have the angle of inclination corresponding to the predetermined angle of inclination “&thgr;” of the cylindrical elastic inner lining element, and provides alternating S and N (or N and S) polarity pattern in the circumferential direction of the outer circumferential wall.

  • Patent number: 5480235
Abstract: A bearing sealing device is used for sealing a bearing assembly by inserting the sealing device through an insertion hole in the bearing assembly and mounting it in a fitting groove formed therein. Individual bearing sealing devices may be obtained by punching operations, and may be produced in large quantities and continuously without requiring any subsequent treatment such as removal of burrs. The bearing sealing device thus formed provides improved firm fitting to the bearing assembly. The bearing sealing device includes an elastic sealing ring and a backing ring combined with each other. The elastic sealing ring has a sealing lip around the peripheral edge thereof extending beyond the corresponding peripheral edge of the backing ring. With the bearing sealing device mounted on the bearing assembly, part of the lip is formed to include a swelling that extends outwardly of the fitting groove so as to embrace the peripheral edge of the backing ring, thus holdiong the backing ring firmly.

  • Patent number: 5385352
Abstract: A sealing system is provided with a construction which permits easy mounting in a bearing assembly, and which provides improved sealing functions by enhancing the ability to engage in a groove in the bearing assembly. The sealing system comprises a sealing device including a supplemental metal ring having a portion folded-over into a U-shape and a marginal end portion extending from the folded-over portion also folded-over into a funnel shape. When the sealing device is mounted in the bearing assembly, the marginal end portion may be expanded deformably to a greater diameter, to thereby allow it to engage in the groove and secure the sealing device in position in the bearing assembly.
