Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for automatically registering a user in a desk-share environment comprising a plurality of desks, each desk being equipped with an IP telephone connected to a communication network, in particular, to a local area network, wherein the IP telephone holds a data base comprising data of all desk-share users of the desk-share environment, the data comprising at least a user ID and a MAC address of a terminal device for each user assigned to a user profile, the method comprising the steps of: receiving, at the IP telephone, an IP data packet from a first terminal device via the communication network; verifying the MAC address in the IP data packet received from the first terminal device; and when the MAC address corresponds to a MAC address in the data of the data base, activating the user profile assigned to the MAC address in the IP telephone.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method is disclosed for integrating at least one first communication terminal assigned to a user as a preferred device in a static configuration of a communication system and/or for dynamically switching from a first communication terminal used as a preferred device to a second communication terminal as a preferred device for providing a one-number service using the preferred device, to which a one-number service number is assigned, wherein at least two communication terminals are statically assigned to the user and a preferred device is also dynamically assigned to the user through a virtual device. Also disclosed is communication system designed for this purpose.

Abstract: A method of scheduling an additional new processing task to be executed by a processor which is already executing a predetermined number of processing tasks to be executed within timeslots and in a periodic sequence of timeslots by the processor can include determining the periodicity of execution of each processing task, associating the performance consumption with each processing task, and scheduling the additional new processing task to be executed in a periodic sequence of timeslots so as to satisfy a predetermined performance consumption criterion. Further, the present invention relates to a communication system, computer device, scheduler and a Central Processing Unit (CPU) with a scheduler.

Abstract: A method for handing over a call from a first communication network to a second communication network, comprising the steps of: registering, by a first mobile client, in particular, an IP-PBX VoIP client, running on a mobile device, the mobile device with an IP-based PBX for the first communication network, following a naming convention, by sending a registration message from the first mobile client to the IP-based PBX, the registration message comprising an endpoint ID, establishing an active conversation over the first communication network, detecting, on the mobile device, a connectivity change with respect to the first communication network, wherein the further steps of retrieving, by the first mobile client, the status of the call impacted by the connectivity change, and subsequently transferring the call to the second communication network are carried out using SIP NOTIFY messages. Further, a communication system for carrying out the method is provided.

Abstract: A method for providing a review process of a document can include receiving, at a document server, the document to be reviewed from a first client; providing, by the document server, access to the document to be reviewed via a second client to start the review process for a user of the second client. During and/or after the review process, the document server can evaluate the quality of the review process and provide information on the evaluated quality to the first client so that the user of the first client can receive an indication of how the review process has occurred or is occurring and have an indication of the quality of that review that is being performed or was performed. Embodiments of a communication apparatus and system for providing information on a review process of a document can be configured to utilize embodiments of the method.

Abstract: A method for managing transmission resources in a SIP-based communication system by a SIP registrar server can include receiving a first number of register requests from a first client from the number of clients, each register request corresponding to one slot in the predetermined first time period; receiving a second number of register requests from a second client of the number of clients, each register request corresponding to one slot in the predetermined first time period, wherein the second number of register requests exceeds the acceptable predetermined number of register requests for the second client, and assigning a number of slots not used by the first client within the predetermined first time period to the second client for sending the register requests which exceed the acceptable predetermined number of register requests for the second client. A system for implementation of the method and an apparatus can be utilized in embodiments of the method and the system.

Abstract: A main board for a computer device can include main board components arranged on a first surface of the main board and Trusted Platform Module (TPM) components arranged on the first surface of the main board. The TPM components can be located in a predetermined area of the main board that is detachable from the main board (e.g. by means of a predetermined break line). A method for producing an embodiment of the main board with an integrated TPM can include producing a Printed Circuit Board (PCB); arranging a plurality of main board components in a first area of the PCB; and arranging TPM components in a second area of the PCB that is a detachable predetermined area of the main board. A predetermined breakline which at least partly surrounds the predetermined area can be formed by drilling holes to form a perforated line.

Abstract: A terminal can have at least one audio interface for at least one microphone, at least one audio interface for at least one speaker, an operator control module and at least one interface for connecting to at least one telephony- and/or IP-telephony-compatible terminal. The terminal can be configured as a media hub for the at least one telephony- or IP-telephony-compatible terminal. The terminal can have a media processing unit for mixing and a media hub controller or controlling media streams received by the at least one telephony- or IP-telephony-compatible terminal and the at least one telephony- or IP-telephony-compatible terminal can be operated through the operator control module of the telecommunication terminal. A method for controlling media streams through a media hub controlled integrated into a telecommunication terminal is also disclosed.

Abstract: A method for programming a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) via a network, the network being operated according to a predetermined communications protocol, can include: establishing a communication connection between the FPGA and an external master, setting the FPGA into a programming mode, the master providing an FPGA programming image to the FPGA in a sequence of frames so that the frames can be parsed and enabling the FPGA to write only during receiving the payload section of the frames. The FPGA programming image and parsing the sequence of frames can be performed by a permanently programmed or hardwired logic component. A network, FPGA, and a communication system can be configured to utilize embodiments of the method.

Abstract: A method of generating a thread for discussion amongst a plurality of participants in a group conversation via a communication network can be configured so that the thread is adapted to link a plurality of posts. The method can include receiving an initial post from one of the participants that includes items arranged in a bullet list. Each item can represent a topic to be discussed among the participants. Each item can be clickable for a participant by converting each item into a hyperlink. Upon receiving a click on an item from the bullet list made by a participant from the plurality of participants, a sub-thread can be created for the item. A real-time communication and collaboration platform can include a number of clients and a server connected to each other via a communication network that can utilize an embodiment of the method.

Abstract: A method for requesting connection in a blue-green deployment which is switched over from a first server (blue) to which at least two clients are connected to a second server (green). The method can include determining, upon receipt of the maintenance notification or detection of a connection failure, an activity score at each one of the at least two clients; and, upon switchover to the second server or detection of the connection failure, transmitting, together with a respective reconnection request, the respective activity score from each one of the at least two clients to the second server for the second server to evaluate a prioritization of the reconnection request based on the activity score. Embodiments of a communication system, server system, and clients (e.g. user devices) can utilize embodiments of the method.

Abstract: A method of providing a recent call list of calls recently received or initiated by a telecommunications device where information on recent services which are services recently handled by or using the telecommunications device other than calls are incorporated as entries in a recent call list of the telecommunications device. Each entry can be formed by a data structure being composed of a plurality of data fields. Each data field can include a data value. An entry representing a recent service other than a call in the recent call list can include a service code identifying a recent service as a data value. A device, system, and apparatus can be configured to utilize or execute the method.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for establishing a VOIP communication between a PBX system and a first terminal device is disclosed. The first terminal device has a VOIP application or video call application. The PBX system and the first terminal device are able to communicate via a first communication connection and a second communication connection. When the PBX system receives a call to be forwarded to the first terminal device the PBX system verifies whether the first terminal device is logged in. If the PBX system verifies that the first terminal device is not logged in, the call is rejected. If the PBX system verifies that the first terminal device is logged in, the PBX system determines whether the application on the first terminal device is running in a background mode or in a foreground mode. When the PBX system determines that the application is running in the foreground mode, the PBX system uses the first connection for forwarding the call.

Abstract: When operating a first unit in a daisy chain of units allowing bidirectional communication, each unit is capable to transmit and to receive signals. A plurality of units including the said first unit transmits a respective signal to a preceding neighbor unit preceding in said daisy chain and to a following neighbor unit following in the daisy chain. In the daisy chain, the first unit determines whether or not it receives a signal from both of these neighbor units or not and if so, said first unit operates so as to put the at least one subunit into a first state. If the at least one subunit is not put into a first state, it operates so as to put the at least one subunit into a second state different from said first state.

Abstract: A computer apparatus (e.g. a server) and a method for managing transmission resources in a SIP-based communication system can include use of a SIP registrar server that is adapted to receive register requests from a number of clients connected to the SIP registrar server via a communication network. Each client can be granted a predetermined number of register requests in a predetermined first time period where each register request corresponds to a slot. In the first time period, at least one slot not used by a first client can be lent to a second client. In a second time period, the at least one slot lent to the second client can be reclaimed by the first client or another client. The reclaiming of the lent slot(s) can include making the second client function as a proxy for other clients according to a third party registration process.

Abstract: A method for assessing quality of a video transmission over a network between a transmitting side and a receiving side can include receiving, at the receiving side, a video stream generated at the transmitting side and transmitted via the network to the receiving side including a plurality of frames. At least one of the frames can include synthetically created portions. At the receiving side, the video stream received from the transmitting side can be analyzed by comparing the video stream received with the video stream originally transmitted. The receiving side can also generate and output a quality score for the video stream received. The output score can be based on the performed analysis. A system and communication apparatus configured to utilize an embodiment of the method are also provided.

Abstract: A system and method for selecting a communication connection candidate for transmission of a media stream via a media connection over a communications network can include use of the ICE protocol for selecting a transmission communication connection candidate for transmitting the media stream from a local peer to a remote peer. During transmission of the media stream from the local peer to the remote peer via the selected transmission communication connection candidate, the communication connection candidates can be tested with respect to Quality of Service (QoS), in both communication directions. The QoS of at least one tested communication connection candidate can be compared to the QoS of the selected communication connection candidate transmitting the media stream. If a tested communication connection candidate provides a better QoS, then the transmission of the media stream can be switched to that communication connection candidate.

Abstract: A method for managing transmission resources in a SIP-based communication system by a SIP registrar server can include receiving a first number of register requests from a first client from the number of clients, each register request corresponding to one slot in the predetermined first time period; receiving a second number of register requests from a second client of the number of clients, each register request corresponding to one slot in the predetermined first time period, wherein the second number of register requests exceeds the acceptable predetermined number of register requests for the second client, and assigning a number of slots not used by the first client within the predetermined first time period to the second client for sending the register requests which exceed the acceptable predetermined number of register requests for the second client. A system for implementation of the method and an apparatus can be utilized in embodiments of the method and the system.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for a client to server deployment via an online distribution platform can include a mechanism to update at least part of a system software or server-side software via a parallel client software update. Online distribution platforms such as mobile application stores can be utilized in embodiments of the apparatus and method to provide not only the client update, but also the system software update in the underlying system (e.g. server-side version).
