Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for controlling objects being loaded or unloaded from a storage structure or vehicle, such as a trailer. In example embodiments, a plurality of parcels may be stored in or on a trailer that is attached to a cab of a delivery vehicle. Upon arrival at a deposit location, the trailer loaded with the one or more parcels may be removably secured to a an adjustable platform designed to be raised to a predetermined angle for unloading of the one or more parcels. Once the adjustable platform is raised to the predetermined angle, a plurality of adjustable dividing mechanisms may be configured to pivot, allowing for the movement of a controlled volume of the one or more parcels onto the receiving platform.

Abstract: A system and method for allowing a purchaser of a gift to associate a personal message (e.g., an audio and/or video message) with the gift is described. The personal message may be associated with the gift via a unique identifier associated with a parcel (e.g., a parcel tracking number) in which the gift is shipped to the intended recipient of the gift. Once the gift is received by the gift recipient, the gift recipient may also associate a message with the gift via the unique identifier. The gift recipient's message may be in response to the purchaser's message, an unrelated message to the purchaser, a message to the retailer where the gift was purchased, or a message to a common carrier.

Abstract: Embodiments provide shelves, bracket systems, automated picker robots, totes, and other features that may be used with delivery vehicle configurations that have automated cargo areas. A delivery vehicle may include a picking robot that selectively retrieves packages for delivery without requiring substantial human intervention for locating those packages. The cargo area of the delivery vehicle may further comprise a plurality of customizable shelving units that generate custom-sized shelves for packages. The shelves may include a plurality of individually movable shelf brackets having retaining members that pivot between an extended and retracted position to hold the package in place and to enable the picking robot to retrieve the package from the shelf. Another embodiment provides for a tote having a drive mechanism to hold letters so that a letter may be automatically retrieved from the cargo area and provided at a delivery location.

Abstract: A system, method and computer program product are provided for processing a subject image, consumer data, and product images to generate product recommendations. Subject images may be provided by consumers and may include products they wish to buy, and/or images of themselves to be utilized as an avatar. The subject image, and other images provided by other consumers may be processed to determine image characteristics, and correlations with consumer data including preferences, demographics, style preferences, physical characteristics, and/or the like. Trends, styles, and preferences may be intelligently learned such that relevant products are provided to a consumer. The subject image may be manipulated, such as by dressing an avatar in a recommended clothing article, and/or the like.

Abstract: Computer-implemented methods, apparatus, and computer program products are provided. In one embodiment, shipment information/data corresponding to a proposed shipment from a customer computing device is received. The shipment information/data may be generated based on a task-management record from user input provided from a shipper. The shipment information/data also identifies a destination location and a desired delivery date for the proposed shipment. In one embodiment, updated shipment information/data is generated and causes the customer computing device to generate updated task-management records via a task-management software application based at least in part on one or more tender dates.

Abstract: A system for enabling users to reserve space at attended delivery/pickup locations to at least substantially guarantee that the attended delivery/pickup locations will have capacity to receive parcels requested to be delivered to them. In various embodiments, the system is configured to substantially automatically reserve space in response to receiving a request to delivery one or more parcels to a particular attended delivery/pickup location. In other embodiments, the system is configured to enable users to reserve space at attended delivery/pickup locations.

Abstract: Computer program products, methods, systems, apparatus, and computing entities are provided for creating, modifying, and viewing map tile data. For example, a method may include accessing an update log to retrieve electronic update data associated with at least one update applied to a set of dynamic map data, determining, based on the electronic update data, at least one cached map tile associated with the at least one update, the at least one cached map tile comprising a first representation of at least one image, wherein the first representation reflects the set of dynamic map data prior to application of the at least one update applied to the dynamic map tile, and generating an updated cached map tile, wherein the updated cached map tile comprises a second representation of the at least one image.

Abstract: Methods, systems, apparatus, and computer program products are provided. In an example embodiment, a communication comprising form fields is received. A form field corresponding to first item information for a first item is identified. A textual item description for the first item is extracted from the form field. A code schedule is accessed and one or more codes are determined for the first item based on the textual item description and the code schedule. An item database is queried to identify second items that are relevant to the first item and a confidence level for each of the codes is determined based on the relevant second items. If a confidence level corresponding to one of the codes is greater than a configurable confidence level, a first code is selected from the codes. An item database is updated to reflect the first code being assigned to the first item.

Abstract: Present aspects are directed to a system that receives digital images of parcels at various points throughout a transportation and logistics network. Based on analysis of a single digital image of a parcel, the dimensions of the parcel are detected and calculated. A single digital image of a parcel is captured at various points throughout a transit or shipping network. The single digital image is processed using computer vision for image manipulation. Key identifying points of the parcel (e.g., a label or bar code) can be detected through the processing. The processed digital image is input into a mathematical model that generates an estimate for all dimensions of the parcel.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided for facilitating label-less returns. The apparatus may include a memory and a processor(s) configured to receive a shipment identifier of an item(s) responsive to a device scanning a label or marking(s) on the item(s) delivered to a customer for a shipper. The processor is also configured to determine whether the customer is registered in a returns program and whether the item(s) qualifies for return based on analyzing the identifier. The processor is also configured to generate a return authorization number (RAN) or indicator for the item(s) and link the RAN/indicator to the identifier responsive to verifying that the customer is registered and that the item(s) qualifies for return. The processor is further configured to cause return delivery of the item(s) to the shipper using the label or the marking(s) on the item(s) responsive to verifying the RAN/indicator is linked to the identifier. Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for facilitating international return of dutiable goods. A typical application involves a purchaser buying goods on-line, resulting in shipping the goods internationally to the purchaser. After receipt of the goods, the purchaser determines that return of the goods is necessary. The purchaser contacts the merchant selling the goods to request returning the goods. The merchant, in turn, communicates to the carrier delivering the goods that an international return is requested. The merchant provides certain information to the carrier allowing the carrier to make available the necessary documentation required by the customer to return the goods to the merchant. The documentation includes a properly completed commercial invoice that is made available to the consignee. The consignee can then sign and use the documentation for returning the item. The documentation may be variously provided to the customer either by the merchant or the carrier.

Abstract: Systems and methods include UAVs that serve to assist carrier personnel by reducing the physical demands of the transportation and delivery process. A UAV generally includes a UAV chassis including an upper portion, a plurality of propulsion members configured to provide lift to the UAV chassis, and a parcel carrier configured for being selectively coupled to and removed from the UAV chassis. UAV support mechanisms are utilized to load and unload parcel carriers to the UAV chassis, and the UAV lands on and takes off from the UAV support mechanism to deliver parcels to a serviceable point. The UAV includes computing entities that interface with different systems and computing entities to send and receive various types of information.

Abstract: Systems and methods for facilitating the sorting of assets to sort locations. In various embodiments, a sort employee scans an asset indicia using a user device, which stores asset data corresponding to the stored asset. As the sort employee nears a sort location (e.g., a delivery vehicle) with the asset and the user device, the user device automatically communicates wirelessly with a sort location receiver to associate the asset data with data indicative of the sort location where the user deposits the asset. In various embodiments, a device may determine whether the user device is proximate the appropriate sort location for the item, and may generate an alert upon a determination that the user device is proximate an incorrect sort location.

In one embodiment, an appropriate computing entity can determine whether a message comprises an action identifier in the message. If the message comprises an action identifier, one or more of the parties of message can be identified and the corresponding action can be initiated.

Abstract: Various embodiments provide systems, methods, and computer program products for dynamically monitoring transport of a plurality of packages potentially containing regulated goods so as to ensure compliance with one or more regulations within a plurality of jurisdictions. The embodiments utilize one or more computer processors or one or more executable portions to: receive transport data associated with the transport of at least one of the plurality of packages and regulatory data associated with the at least one jurisdiction in which transport occurs; determine whether the one of the plurality of packages contains at least one regulated good; if the presence of at least one regulated good is determined, validate consignor data and the transport data; whereby in response to an unsuccessful validation, at least one report is generated to prevent or otherwise mitigate transport of the one of the plurality of packages in the at least one identified jurisdiction.

Abstract: An item drop box sensor system for detecting items deposited within a drop box may be configured to detect movement of an item deposit tray and to detect items deposited within the drop box. The drop box sensor system may comprise one or more tray movement sensors for detecting movement of the deposit tray, one or more item detection sensors configured to detect items passing into the drop box via the deposit tray, and an onboard controller for selectively activating the various sensors to conserve power and for transmitting data indicative of the status of the drop box to a central server configured for scheduling item pickups for various geographically spaced drop boxes.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing personalized delivery services by a carrier providing a package delivery service. For example, a consignee may indicate a delivery preference to be applied to delivery of a package, such as indicating a specific location where the package is to be left upon delivery, if the consignee is not present to accept the package. In one embodiment, the consignee may be notified by the carrier of the scheduled delivery of the package, and may be linked to the carrier's web site to indicate a delivery preference. Alternatively, the delivery preference may be indicated by the consignee proactively accessing the web site. After conveying a delivery preference, the carrier's systems communicate the delivery preference at the appropriate time to a portable computing device which informs the delivery personnel of the consignee's delivery preference. Other embodiments allow the consignor to indicate delivery preferences.
