    Abstract: The present invention provides a high-speed charge-transfer photodiode encompassing a first conductivity type semiconductor layer (20) serving as a charge-generation region; and a second conductivity type surface-buried region (21a) serving as a charge-transfer region of charges generated by the charge-generation region, wherein a specified direction in the surface-buried region (21a) provided along a plane parallel to a surface of the semiconductor layer (20) is assigned as a charge-transfer direction of the charges, and at least one of a variation of widths of the surface-buried region (21a) measured in an orthogonal direction to the charge-transfer direction and a variation of impurity concentration distributions of the surface-buried region (21a), which are measured along the charge-transfer direction, is determined such that an electric field distribution in the charge-transfer direction is constant.

    Abstract: Provided are a method of separating a metal layer and an organic light emitting diode. A method of manufacturing a flexible device and a method of manufacturing a flexible display include forming a releasing layer on a substrate, forming a metal layer on the releasing layer, forming an insulating layer on the metal layer, forming a releasable layer on the insulating layer, bonding a plastic to the releasable layer, and separating the substrate and the releasing layer at an interface therebetween to manufacture a flexible device. Since the conventional process equipment using the glass substrate can be compatibly used, the manufacturing cost can be reduced. In addition, since the glass substrate has less limitation in the process temperature compared with the plastic substrate, an electric device having a superior performance can be manufactured.

    Abstract: Provided is a method and apparatus for measuring efficiency of an optical device. In the method, a power of emission light from the optical device is calculated by irradiating an excitation stimulus on the optical device. A power of a reference excitation stimulus at which a variation of recombination coefficients in a quantum well of the optical device with respect to a variation of carrier concentration in the quantum well of the optical device becomes minimum is extracted. An internal quantum efficiency of the optical device at the power of the reference excitation stimulus is calculated. An internal quantum efficiency of the optical device at powers of various excitation stimuli is calculated from the internal quantum efficiency of the optical device at the power of the reference excitation stimulus.

    Abstract: Provided is a frequency conversion mixer. The frequency conversion mixer includes a transconductance stage, a switching stage, a load stage, a current bleeding circuit, and a bias stage. The transconductance stage receives an RF signal, and outputs a current corresponding to a voltage of the RF signal. The switching stage switches the current which is outputted from the transconductance stage in response to a local oscillation signal, for frequency conversion the RF signal into an intermediate frequency (IF) signal. The load stage is connected between the switching stage and a supply voltage terminal. The current bleeding circuit is connected parallel with the switching stage, especially, embodying inverter structure with transconductance stage to get not only current bleeding effect but also current reuse effect, and one resonant inductor for reducing noise which is generated in parasitic capacitance at node between transconductance stage and switching stage.

    Abstract: An n-type region as a charge storage region of a photodiode is buried in a substrate. The interface between silicon and a silicon oxide film is covered with a high concentration p-layer and a lower concentration p-layer is formed only in the portion immediately below a floating electrode for signal extraction. Electrons generated by light are stored in the charge storage region, thereby changing the potential of the portion of the p-layer at the surface of the semiconductor region. The change is transmitted through a thin insulating film to the floating electrode by capacitive coupling and read out by a buffer transistor. Initialization of charges is executed by adding a positive high voltage to the gate electrode of a first transfer transistor such that the electrons stored in the charge storage region are transferred to the n+ region and generation of reset noise is protected.
