Abstract: A biosensor device, system, and method for detecting biological material. The sensor includes a substrate including sample regions having attachable thereon an immobilized first species associated with the biological material and includes at least one optical sensor associated with the sample regions and configured to detect induced radiation from a second species selectively attached to the first species at the sample regions. The induced radiation provides an indication that the biological material is on the substrate. The system includes a processor in communication with the optical sensor and is configured to monitor the induced radiation from the second species. The method immobilizes a first species of the biological material on the at least one sample region, attaches a second species of the biological material to the first species, induces radiation from the second species, and detects the radiation with at least one optical sensor associated with the at least one sample region.

Abstract: To achieve an image sensor with low noise, small dark current and the high sensitivity, an n-type region serving as a charge storage region (2) of a photodiode is buried in a substrate (1). The interface between silicon and a silicon oxide film (4) is covered with a p-layer (3) of high concentration, and a p-layer (11) of a relatively low concentration is formed only in the portion immediately below a floating electrode (14) for signal extraction. The electrons generated by light are stored in the n-type region serving as the charge storage region (2), and the potential of the portion of the p-layer (11) at the surface of the semiconductor region is changed thereby. The change in the potential is transmitted through a thin insulating film to the floating electrode (14) in a floating state by the capacitive coupling. The change in the potential of the floating electrode (14) is read out by a buffer transistor (7).

Abstract: A transmitter sets a time length, determines a time point at which phases of frequency signals coincide within a range of the time length, defines a determined time point as a time reference point, aligns the phases of the frequency signals based on the time reference point, combines phase-aligned frequency, and transmits combined frequency signals to a receiver by the time length as the communication signals. The receiver receives the communication signals, extracts the phases of the frequency signals, obtains a time point at which the phases coincide, and determines an obtained time point as the time reference point.

Abstract: Nucleophosmin inhibitors are disclosed which inhibit the multimerization of nucleophosmin and the biological activity of nucleophosmin, such as the ability of nucleophosmin to inhibit apoptosis and inhibit cellular differentiation. These small molecule inhibitors are useful for treating diseases and disorders, such as cancer associated with dysregulated nucleophosmin expression. Methods for identifying small molecule inhibitors of nucleophosmin involving multimerization sites for nucleophosmin are also disclosed.

Abstract: In a boundary active only scheme proposed by the present invention, only a cell in a boundary of region growth is brought into an active mode, and the other cells are brought into a standby mode. The respective cells perform state transition in parallel, and decision of the state transition performed for each clock cycle is not performed in a case where any of the three conditions that none of the adjacent cells is ignited, the cell itself is already ignited, and the cell already belongs to a certain divided region is satisfied. Therefore the number of simultaneously operating cells and that of coupling weight registers are minimized, and control is automatically executed to reduce power consumption.
