Abstract: In a stereoscopic image processing device, disparity distribution of a stereoscopic image can be adaptively transformed in accordance with visual characteristics of a person relating to stereoscopic vision. The stereoscopic image processing device includes a disparity distribution transformation section (30) that transforms disparity distribution of a stereoscopic image input by an input section (10). The disparity distribution transformation section (30) reduces a difference in disparity between adjacent pixels in an area of the stereoscopic image, in which the difference in disparity between the adjacent pixels is large.
Abstract: A method for moving object detection based on a Cerebellar Model Articulation Controller (CMAC) network includes the following steps. A time series of incoming frames of a fixed location delivered over a network is received. A CMAC network is constructed from the time series of incoming frames, where the CMAC network includes an input space, an association memory space, a weight memory space, and an output space. A current frame is received and divided into a plurality of current blocks. Each of the current blocks is classified as either a background block or a moving object block according to the CMAC network. Whether a target pixel of the moving object blocks is a moving object pixel or a background pixel is determined according to an output of the CMAC network in the output space.

A switch of the buck converter is located in the low side of the buck converter such that a controller of the buck converter may drive the switch directly without the use of an isolation transformer. Abstract: A power line communication system and signaling protocol is usable for quick dimming of an electronic ballast. An encoding circuit transmits message frames having encoded control signals across a AC power line. Each of a first set of frames includes a bit pattern corresponding to a lighting zone, and a second set of frames includes hamming-encoded bit patterns corresponding to respective hexadecimal digits of a dimming level for the lighting zone. A ballast in a first (quick-dim) configuration detects the second set of frames, decodes the hamming-encoded digits and immediately adjusts the ballast output to the desired power level. The ballast in a second (normal) configuration determines the desired power level based on a pattern density in the first set of frames, and adjusts the output current of the ballast accordingly. If the ballast of the first configuration fails to detect the second set of frames, it defaults to pattern density recognition.

Abstract: This disclosure is directed to the methods of enhancing hematopoietic stem cells (HSPC) and progenitor cell (HSPC) engraftment procedure. Treatment in vivo of a HSPC donor with compounds that reduce PGE2 biosynthesis or PGE2 receptor antagonists alone, or in combination with other hematopoietic mobilization agents such as AMD3100 and G-CSF, increases the circulation of available HSPCs. Compounds that reduce the cellular synthesis of PGE2 include non-steroidal anti-inflammatory compounds such as indomethacin. Treatment ex vivo of HSPC with an effective amount of PGE2 or at least one of its derivatives such as 16,16-dimethyl prostaglandin E2 (dmPGE2), promotes HSPC engraftment. Similar methods may also be used to increase viral-mediated gene transduction efficacy into HSPC.
