Abstract: The present invention provides an energy-storing temperature control material, and belongs to the technical field of temperature control materials. In the energy-storing temperature control material provided in the present invention, the organic synthetic fiber based phase-change material has a three-dimensional dispersion effect, and can form a network constraint for remaining phase-change materials to reinforce mechanical properties of the materials, thereby fixing shapes of the materials and avoiding a liquid-crystal phase separation phenomenon in the phase-change process. The phase-change energy storage agent can absorb and release the heat by means of solid-liquid phase conversion of the material, to achieve the temperature control effect; and the phase-change temperature regulator can regulate a phase-change temperature range of the phase-change material, to make the energy-storing temperature control material suitable for climatic features of northern China.

  • Publication number: 20220378008
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for controlling heat stress and accumulations in livestock using the application of water sprays onto the animal in conjunction with fan induced airflow. The system has a controller with sensor inputs of the ambient environment including temperature, humidity, wind speed, and surrounding surface temperature sensors and fan and spray control outputs. To achieve savings in water and electricity, a transient, one-dimensional simultaneous heat and mass transfer model of evaporation within the wetted fur layer of a dairy cow is used to estimate drying time and heat rejection rate based on ambient conditions along with a control algorithm to predict the fan speed and sprinkler operation frequency needed to meet specified cooling load thresholds given the outdoor conditions. Estimated savings demonstrated that the model-based controller could reduce annual electricity and water consumption by 20% and 40%, respectively.

Abstract: A method is described for determining the structure of a surfactant complex formed at an immiscible liquid-liquid interface. The surfactant complex forms and crystallizes at the interface between an aqueous phase comprising a divalent metal salt and a non-aqueous phase comprising an anionic surfactant. The non-aqueous phase may be in the form of a droplet surrounded by the aqueous phase. The structure of the surfactant complex is determined by X-ray crystallography.

Abstract: Transient molecules in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, such as nitric oxide and hydrogen sulfide, are important signals and mediators of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Because these molecules may be short-lived in the body, they are difficult to detect. To track these reactive molecules in the GI tract, a miniaturized device has been developed that integrates genetically engineered probiotic biosensors with a custom-designed photodetector and readout chip. Leveraging the molecular specificity of living sensors, bacteria were genetically encoded to respond to IBD-associated molecules by luminescing. Low-power electronic readout circuits (e.g., using nanowatt power) integrated into the device convert the light from just 1 ?L of bacterial culture into a wireless signal. Biosensor monitoring was demonstrated in the GI tract of small and large animal models and integration of all components into a sub-1.4 cm3 ingestible form factor capable of supporting wireless communication.

The multi-element copper alloy comprises: 80-90 atomic percent Cu, 0.1-4 atomic percent Al, 6-10 atomic percent Ni, 0.1-3 atomic percent Si, 0.1-2 atomic percent V and/or Nb, and 0.1-2 atomic percent M. Experimental data reveal that, after being applied with an aging treatment under 450 degrees Celsius for 50 hours, hardness and strength of the multi-element copper alloy are both significantly enhanced because of age hardening, and softening due to overaging is not observed on the multi-element copper alloy. Moreover, measurement data have indicated that, this novel multi-element copper alloy exhibits better wear resistance superior to that of the conventional copper alloys.
