Abstract: High-frequency supercapacitors that can respond at kilohertz frequencies (AC-supercapacitors). The electrodes of the AC-supercapacitors include edge oriented graphene (EOG) electrodes or carbon nanofiber network (CNN) electrodes. The EOG electrodes are formed by utilizing a plasma and feedstock carbon gas to carbonize cellulous paper and deposit graphene implemented in one step. The CNN electrodes are formed by pyrolyzing a carbon nanofiber network utilizing a plasma.
Abstract: Disclosed herein are multi-layer structures comprising a first composite layer disposed over a second composite layer, wherein the first composite layer contains a first active material dispersed in a first polymer containing an elastomeric polymer and the second composite layer contains a second polymer which may have a second active material dispersed therein, wherein the first active material chemically or physically interacts with at least one toxic chemical and is selected from the group consisting of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), metal oxides, metal hydroxides, zeolites, and combinations thereof, and wherein the active material and the second active material (if present) are the same as or different from each other, and the first polymer and second polymer are the same as or different from each other, subject to the proviso that the first composite layer and the second composite layer compositionally differ from each other in at least one respect.

Abstract: Disclosed are materials and methods for treating diseases of the mammalian eye, and in particular, Usher syndrome 1B (USH1B). The invention provides AAV-based, dual-vector systems that facilitate the expression of full-length proteins whose coding sequences exceed that of the polynucleotide packaging capacity of an individual AAV vector. Abstract: Position information estimation in a distributed radio frequency (RF) communications system is provided. Embodiments disclosed herein facilitate high-precision estimations of positions, orientations, velocities, and acceleration of network nodes in a distributed RF network. The distributed RF communications system incorporates a series of estimation processes which makes it susceptible to propagation of errors. To ensure robustness of the distributed RF communications system, relative positions of network nodes are tracked by iteratively tracking parameters used for estimating position information. Some embodiments take advantage of Kalman filtering algorithms by leveraging principles directed by physics. At every network node, several filtering algorithms can be employed to synchronize clocks, track delay between multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antennas and estimate position and orientation of other network nodes.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an electronic vehicle height clearance system, comprising: an infrared emission bar; a photo-sensor bar; an entrance gate and an electronic sign, wherein the system help in managing a vehicle with height above or below a permissible level for an area where the system is installed. Abstract: According to various embodiments, a method for generating an optimal hidden-layer long short-term memory (H-LSTM) architecture is disclosed. The H-LSTM architecture includes a memory cell and a plurality of deep neural network (DNN) control gates enhanced with hidden layers. The method includes providing an initial seed H-LSTM architecture, training the initial seed H-LSTM architecture by growing one or more connections based on gradient information and iteratively pruning one or more connections based on magnitude information, and terminating the iterative pruning when training cannot achieve a predefined accuracy threshold.
