  • Publication number: 20210132177
Abstract: Position information estimation in a distributed radio frequency (RF) communications system is provided. Embodiments disclosed herein facilitate high-precision estimations of positions, orientations, velocities, and acceleration of network nodes in a distributed RF network (e.g., including base stations and vehicles, such as aircraft or unmanned aerial systems (UASs)). Modern radio systems must adapt to limited spectral access by reducing spectrum demand and increasing operational efficiency. In this regard, an RF system is provided which simultaneously performs positioning and communications tasks. This system specifically addresses the issue of spectral congestion by employing an extremely efficient positioning strategy and using a joint waveform that simultaneously enables both tasks. This efficiency in turn supports more users in a given frequency allocation.

  • Patent number: 10996496
Abstract: In present invention, various embodiments provide a photothermotropic composite film. The composite film comprises a matrix and one or more nanostructures comprising a metal oxide semiconductor which is configured to convert radiant energy to thermal energy. The matrix has a property which is changeable based on the thermal energy received by the matrix from the metal oxide semiconductor. In a preferred embodiment, hybridization of the poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) hydrogel and antimony-tin oxide (ATO) is provided as the composite film. In this film, the ATO absorbs at near-infrared (NIR) region and acts as nanoheater to induce the optical switching of the hydrogel. • Patent number: 10995618
Abstract: An actuator of a rotary engine that can realize different compression ratios includes three parts: an eccentric shaft, a triangle rotor and a control system. The eccentric shaft includes the front part of the eccentric shaft, the combination of an electric three-jaw and the rear part of the eccentric shaft. The triangle rotor includes the variable volume actuator, the front part of the rotor and the rear part of the rotor. The control system controls expansion and contraction of the electric three-jaw. The eccentric shaft part passes through the triangle rotor part to make the combination of electric three jaw to arrange in the annular groove. The reciprocating motion of the variable volume actuator is controlled by the expansion and contraction of the claw top of the electric three-jaw. Engine compression ratio may therefore be adjusted using the compression ratio adjustment system.

  • Patent number: 10996158
Abstract: In the present invention, a method for determining at least one pore-related parameter of a porous structure is provided. In a preferred embodiment, an enhanced evapoporometry (EP) technique is provided to determine pore size distribution of continuous pores of a porous structure. In this enhanced EP technique, a volatile liquid, such as isopropoyl alcohol or water, is supplied to one side of a porous structure in order to enable the volatile liquid to penetrate and saturate the porous structure through capillary force. Thereafter, an immiscible non-volatile liquid, such as glycerol, mineral oils, silicon oils or hydrophilic ionic liquid, is supplied to the one side of the porous structure. As the volatile liquid evaporates progressively from the filled pores, the emptied pores may be immediately filled by the non-volatile liquid drawn upwards by capillary action. This prevents formation of a t-layer formed from the adsorption of vapour emanating from the volatile liquid that is used to saturate the pores.
