Abstract: A gas analyzing apparatus includes first and second laser sources that output first and second laser lights, a laser controller that controls the first and second laser sources to vary wavelengths of the first and second laser lights in the respective predetermined wavelength ranges, an optical multiplexer that multiplexes the first and second laser lights to transmit the multiplexed laser light to a target gas, an optical receiver that receives the laser light transmitted through the target gas, and an analyzer that analyzes a temperature and/or a concentration of the target gas based on an electric signal output from the optical receiver. While varying the wavelengths of the laser lights, the laser controller controls amplitudes of the first and second laser lights to differ from each other and varies intensities of the first and second laser lights in the opposite direction.

Abstract: Methods for treating cancer, e.g., cancer of epithelial origin, by specifically targeting human satellite II (HSATII) using sequence specific agents such as oligonucleotides. As shown herein, the hetero chromatic HSATII satellite repeat is silenced in normal cells, but massively over expressed in epithelial cancers and in cancer cell lines when grown as xenografts or in 3D culture. Induction of HSATII RNA, either in xenografts or using in vitro reconstitution models, suggests the appearance of complementary DNA intermediates.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for generating wide-field optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) images. In embodiments, multiple OCTA scans of a sample are automatically acquired at overlapping locations. The systems and methods include functionality to adaptively control the scanning procedure such that eye blink and eye motion events are detected in real time and accounted for during 3D scan acquisition. Also disclosed are methods for detecting and correcting motion-related artifacts in OCTA datasets which allow for the longer scan times over larger fields of view required for wide-field imaging. These methods may include division of en face angiogram images into a set of motion-free parallel strips, and application of gross and fine registration methods to align overlapping strips into a motion-corrected composite image. A series of overlapping motion-corrected composite images may be combined into a larger montage to enable wide-field OCTA imaging using multiple OCTA scans.
Abstract: A preparation method of an acidic and hydrophobic Pd/C catalytic material comprises performing a simple treatment with chlorosulfonic acid and trimethylchlorosilane, washing and drying a treatment product to obtain a modified Pd/C catalytic material. A method for preparing 2,5-methylfuran by catalyzing a carbohydrate with modified Pd/C comprises: dissolving the carbohydrate in alcohol, allowing a reaction to proceed with modified Pd/C as a catalyst and polymethylhydrosiloxane as a hydrogen donor at a temperature of 80˜140° C. for 1-5 hours, and performing centrifugation to separate the catalyst from the product. The content of the modified Pd/C content is 1-3 mol % relative to the carbohydrate; the polymethylhydrosiloxane amount is equivalent to 4-10 times the carbohydrate amount, and the carbohydrate concentration in the alcohol is 2-6 wt %.
