Abstract: The application relates to a composition comprising: a stably integrating delivery vector; a modified mammalian thymidylate kinase (tmpk) wherein the modified mammalian tmpk increases phosphorylation of a prodrug relative to phosophorylation of the prodrug by wild-type human tmpk; and a detection cassette fused to tmpk. The application also relates to use of these compositions in methods of treatment of diseases such as graft versus host disease and cancer.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for self-alignment and assembly of objects with micron-level and/or nanometer-level alignment accuracy. Mating alignment features spanning multiple length scales are disposed at surfaces of objects to be brought into contact. When the objects are pressed together, the alignment features guide alignment of the objects with respect to each other. The alignment features may provide retaining forces to hold the objects together. Micron-level and nanometer-level alignment accuracies may be achieved over large surface areas.
Abstract: It is demonstrated that alpha synculein toxicity such as ?-synuclein mediated cell death, and alpha synuclein induced reactive oxygen species (ROS) in a cell requires proapoptotic endonuclease G and that the deletion of the endonuclease G or suppressing of the endonuclease G apoptotic pathway attenuates or counteracts such alpha synuclein toxicity. In view of these observations, compositions and methods for inhibition of ?-synuclein toxicity are provided. The inhibiting ?-synuclein toxicity can be used in methods for the treatment of synucleinopathies, such as Parkinsons disease (PD), dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), pure autonomic failure (PAF), and multiple system atroypy (MSA) and the manufacture of medicaments for such treatment.

Abstract: Provided herein are methods for inactivating a target polynucleotide. The methods use a psiRNA having a 5? region and a 3? region. The 5? region includes, but is not limited to, 5 to 10 nucleotides chosen from a repeat from a CRISPR locus immediately upstream of a spacer. The 3? region is substantially complementary to a portion of the target polynucleotide. The methods may be practiced in a prokaryotic microbe or in vitro. Also provided are polypeptides that have endonuclease activity in the presence of a psiRNA and a target polynucleotide, and methods for using the polypeptides.

Abstract: Systems and methods for the design and fabrication of OLEDs, including high-performance large-area OLEDs, are provided. Variously described fabrication processes may be used to deposit and pattern bus lines with a smooth profile and a gradual sidewall transition. Such smooth profiles may, for example, reduce the probability of electrical shorting at the bus lines. Accordingly, in certain circumstances, an insulating layer may no longer be considered essential, and may be optionally avoided altogether. In cases where an insulating layer is not used, further enhancements in the emissive area and shelf life of the device may be achieved as well. According to aspects of the invention, bus lines such as those described herein may be deposited, and patterned, using vapor deposition such as vacuum thermal evaporation (VTE) through a shadow mask, and may avoid multiple photolithography steps.
